today i was killing das wilde in my junker character by the sigma 13 jumphole, when a bhg tagged fighter attacked me. i wasn't having any trouble killing him until he called his friend. his friend had a military tagged battlestar. he attacked me, which is perfectly fine, but in addition he contiuously killed npc's so that the fighter could tractor the bots/bats in. i got wise to it after a little while and started trying to tractor them myself. i eventually killed the fighter and ran away from his friend, so it not that im a sore loser, it just didnt seem quite fair for the fighter to have an inexhaustable supply of bots/bats. maybe its just a tactic. doesn't seem right to me though.
As far as I know (yes I read the rules) that is not out of RP, but still it`s a bad behaviour...
When someone does this intentionally I always cruise away saying that this is not right...
If you encounter same situation again just cruise away:)It`s not a shame:P
ya i didnt see it in the rules either. i would've cruised away, but i had brought his hull down to 25% 3 times and i really wanted to finish him off. i'll probably cruise away next time.
That kind of a scummy tactic, yes. Want to know what really ticks me off? When they shoot their -own- NPCs to do it because there arn't any hostile ones around. For example, lets say someone's off fighting in Liberty. A Navy tagged and ID'ed ship shows up, and engages. They fight, pirate/terrorist is winning, and the Navy bloke pops one of the Patriots zipping around everywhere.
That's not just annoying, that's freaking out of RP!
This is the real true story of rock and roll; it was not about anything more then, how to live your life, as a gangster, in sartorial splendor, and turning the world into a place where normality would never return again...- Malcolm McLaren

Which is exactly whet that SA GB frozen was talking about did. You should really put a rule against farming NPCs.
Personally I'm seeing it happening a lot nowadays, mostly large vessels killing friendly to them NPCs around to grab bots/bats. Technically they should be expelled from the player factions they are belong to, it's an act of treason after all, intentionally killing of his/her own allies, NPC or not. If they don't seem to care about RP and take any opportunity to win in PvP... I guess then there should be a rule restricting such behavior.
That kinda behaviour is sad... I've always seen NPC's as a bonus whilst being in a fight myself. I never target them, but they always seem to get in the cross firing. When one is destroyed, then it is a 50/50 change of whom is getting the bots and shields...
... but harvesting them during battle on purpose - that's just wrong...:nono:
The BS could have legaly entered battle and helped allied fighter, but instead harvested b/b for fighter(Probably at fighter's request). I would say the line here would be the fact NPC's were hostile.
Shooting friendly NPC during PvP obviosly not a fair or honorable tactic.
