K so two days ago I have a horrid catastrophe. Some dolt in my family accidentally wipes out my entire hard drive. So what do I do? Fool around fixing it for a day. Now today is my nice day to get back into FL. K so I install everything. K so then I go to log in again and what... no global server? K so I find the link to the ip shortcut fix. That doesn't work either. I notice that my firewall hasn't asked me if I want to let FL access the internet, unlike it did before and with other programs.
So whats wrong? I'm too burnt out fixing this bloody box to really dig and man... get no appreciation for my work from the other mongrels using it.
I know it sounds like my firewall but I've tried turning it off, trying a different one, etc.. For the record I'm using Comodo Firewall. I was using it before the big reinstall so I don't think its the real problem. The other thing is I'm told about programs that try to access the internet by the firewall and whether I want to let them. There isn't any such thing from Freelancer. Its as if Freelancer isn't even sendig a signal to connect to the internet.
I've tried reinstalling, I've tried drivers, port checking even. Says that port 2302 is closed.
Ugh, its so frustrating. Been trying to get FL working for something like 6 hours now. I haven't had a good serotonin boost in 2 days now.:(
