You're the last person who should be making threads like this.
Plus, why is Ench on your good list, when she's the same as Sina, Enojado and Naukel (the third of which does nothing ever on the forums)? I mean, they're all the same pwnsquad, just because you like one for not caring so much and hate the others because they killed you, doesn't make you right.
I remember your blatant trumpetting of how good you were in your Barghest. A year ago isn't that short for those of us who've been here for longer, or even for those who appeared on the scene when you were boasting about how mediocre you were in your stupid bomber. At least have the cajones to admit that you're the same person now as you were then, inasmuch as if you could still kill every noob you came across, and still had the time to avoid anyone who could kick your ass (oh, but I forgot, every time they do, its because of your laptop), you'd still brag. But the difference is, you can't. You're normal, and you don't like it.
I'm the same, which is why I dont make threads like this. I'd be the biggest hypocrite ever, much like you are right now.

I tell you what, being an Admin is no easy task. We get flooded with sanction reports, a lot of which aren't anything too serious and we do our best to address them. I also notice that it's often the same people who make these reports, sometimes more than one a day. My point? I think some have forgotten that sanctioning is a last resort.
For both Moderators and Admins, no matter what we do, someone will always not like a decision we make. It comes with the job. We do it because we actually very much enjoy the community we play in. I ran my own game clan for 10 years before Disco and I thought managing that group was tough! There are a lot more people and thus, personalities and egos, to manage here. With new people coming regularly, it never gets easier.
All of us have to balance this game with RL which often takes away from the "diligence" we would like to put in. It's not that we don't care, it's that we have RL obligations to tend to.
Every single Faction (when referring to their leadership) which I have been in contact with and whom have ever denounced me, personally for something negative based on my "PvP-habits" have turned around and become suddenly my "friend" whenever I fight for them.
Guess what happens if I leave said Faction. It's always the same story.
It's hard to find a genuine leader to follow. But for now my home is with the Mandalorians.
Boss, I don't mind you man but this kind of Q_Q only feeds on itself.
Seperate yourself from the game and community, ignore the Q_Qing, ignore the lolwuts, understand that we have bad days and move on.
Really, I have actually have been having MORE fun since 4.83 when I joined. There were times when I was afraid the server would fall on its face (global server death as an example) but it seems to come back. The only thing on here that I think makes it less fun are some of the really good friends who used to play that are not on much anymore. This is mostly because of TS though.
This GAME is a ton of fun for me and somone's EGO isn't going to keep me from playing.
However, PIP is right. This game will not last forever so enjoy it while it is here. If disco was to go away right now, I would have 99% fond memories.
-edit BTW, the forums are a bad representaion of the community's health. The "loud obnoxious" ones just make it seem sick. The thousands of players that don't Q_Q on here or get emotional on the forums are a great time. Just find somone IN-GAME and have some fun. I bet you will. I turned the forums off for almost a month once, got disconnected with the lolwuttery on here and came back. It really chages your persective on it all. I laugh at the Q_Qers now, not rage.

Well said, since I couldnt say it better, I wont try.
The following is an incoherent spew of ideas. The paragraphs are not really related to each other...
I've noticed that if I completely ignore the forums and skype, the game is fun. Great fun with just enough RP depth so that it is not a pointless space shooter.
I find most new players really enjoy it here because I'd guess that over the last 6 months, I've probably received 20 messages in game from a random new guy saying something like "great mod & server, thanks". This is quite a large number given I've probably only been on my admin ship about 20 times. These are the guys that are not heavily active on the forums but just play and enjoy it.
I tend to ignore threads saying discovery is dying. The reason for this is that there have been many threads about this back to when the forums first opened. I've read many them and they're not dissimilar to this one.
Discovery will die one day. It will die because the members of the community hate each other more than they respect each other.
The admin team can only curb the worst excesses in behaviour. I note that when the admin team acts quickly, it is accused of making a poorly thought out decisions. When the admin team acts slowly (to gather information and deeply consider an issue) it is accused of not caring. When the admin team hands power to players, another group of players will complain that the first group is abusing the powers and demand the admin team fix it. There are many variations this theme.
I'm not complaining about people complaining about the admin team; receiving complaints is part of the job and if an admin can't accept this, they can quit.

This is a game. People are jerks. Jerks play games. if you don't like jerks, don't play the game.
Taking things too seriously is baaaad.
Somepeople in this community would do the community a favor by sodding off. But it's a free world. so, meh. Log in, get pwnd, log out, eat, sleep, repeat.
