Anyway, obligatory "try out for (]o[)" post.
Because I don't think he was looking for "a mere trading faction". As for Samura the non-trading parts would pretty much be escorting, mining or counter-pirating the Bretonians in Dublin. All of them lead to PvP at one point. Sure, you can always praise the emperor, Kusaris beauty, Samura itself or harass any competition. I'd appreciate to see that more often, but it's more likely to find people listening and responding/discussing it with you if you are doing one of the other tasks while at it instead of sitting in front of Shinjuku/NT.

I'll tell you a secret - join any faction and play the role you like. There are no faction that force you to PVP, just some of them have more troubles looking for them around. Better choose according to the roleplay of a faction and faction's reputation out of the roleplay.
start an OSC character, and move interesting stuff from Gallia into sirius. i've been looking at this (cos i think its a shame that the faction died) and im trying out a BWT as an osc supply ship. your not carrying vips, but you are carrying some quite good profits around...

Indeed. Gaians need more Liners to shoot around Lewis. Also, the faction may be dead, but the OSC Liners mentioned above are completely alive when orbiting Islay. And it's a good idea to find an inactive faction and bump it a bit.
If you are interested in RP for RP's sake then you might want to consider joining the Bretonia Police Authority.
I know that sounds a bit wierd as you would expect them to have to PvP when they are enforcing the law, killing the bad guys or forcing them to run outside of Breton jurisdiction, but you need to think again about that. I for one am absolutely useless at PvP, I couldn't hit a space station better than 20% of the time, even if I was trying Kamikaze attacks!
Having said that, since joining the BPA and patrolling in my Hussar LF, I have never had to use my guns, not once. I approach my RP with the belief that if a cop has to resort to his guns then he has failed at his duty of enforcing the peace. I even managed face down an Outcast Cruiser in the Cambridge system, alone and armed only with a pair of class 5 chain guns. I have to admit I was 'bricking it' during the incident, but he obeyed the law and exited the system without causing any trouble. A policeman's job is not to be a one man SWAT team, if he needs that sort of backup, he calls on our equivelant of SWAT, or the BAF.
If the thought of enforcing the law virtually unarmed and acting as a sort of unofficial 'Angel' (which is how I prefer to RP my policeman), to roleplay the friendly cop on the beat, then think about the BPA. And if you do fancy some PvP action, we do have SWAT specialist divisions as well.
Oh and podgie bear. As enticing as it sounds, i do not want any characters that would conflict with each other and since i am in both the Benitez and CR it would not be a very good idea.
