Today I was in my Kusari Police battleship(non-clan) char when a KNF clan player approached me. He told me that my battleship would be heavily investigated because I needed the permission of KNF's clan leader. This was a recent thing may I add. I explained to him my RP and stated my ship was made before this decree. He crabbed about how I shouldn't be able to hunt pirates in a BS or stop traders in one either. He said it wasn't...fair. OH...MY...GOD! It shouldn't be fair! I'm the law here and this is how I show it: With sheer firepower!!!!! I am Kusari police and it is my duty to defend our homw from drugs, pirates, and enemy factions. In my ID it states I have the right to do this and the right to fly this ship. If it is true about what he says, the ID should say:
Oh by the way, Battleships can't do squat.
WHAT!?!?!?!?! He was basically telling me to downgrade to give pirates a fighting chance. Ummm, I'm here to keep them from thinking they can beat me. If I have a bigger ship, they stay away or run off. If I'm in a gunboat or fighter, I'm basically saying, "Look at me, I want to suck and show that I'm a total moron who doesn't care what goes through our home!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
How has the right of way here?
"THE HULL HAS BEEN BREACHED AND THESCIENCEIS LEAKING OUT!"
Well, Ive never known the police to use heavy military gear.
Also, it's kind of poor form to fly around as a BS hunting fighters.
You don't see pirates robbing transports in BSes... keep the game fun for everyone, okay?
Also, RP-wise, it isn't economically feasible to pay for a BS to defend from pirates in fighters in that only a little money will be saved from the BSes presence... a BS which will cost millions to run effectively.
And not only what you said but it's horridly...well out of RP for the police to have a battleship. The police would have a gunboat at most. MAYBE a cruiser to deploy fighters from. The thing in FL that most people don't get is the fundamental difference between military and police. And the police in FL get fighters, and slightly bigger ships.
Secondly, would the Kusari Naval Forces keep a BS doing standard patrol duties when they need everything they have to beat the Bretonians? And in addition to that the need for such a ship protecting the main of Kusari would not be needed because of the war.
Why? Because according to Rumors and News reports on, Bretonian, Kusari, BD, GC etc... stations it says that the Kusari pirates have been helping the KNF in some manner. Basically they hate the Kusari government, but the thought of Bretonia holding Kusari territory is faaaar worse than Kusari and it's corruption.
So shago... you shouldn't be using such a ship for such a purpose...it isn't RP.
So Shagohad, why don't you put in those screenshots you were threatening me with?
You will only find words of honor and judgment in such words I used, the same thing cannot be told about you.
My diplomatic channel is always open, as our will to accept a KSP loner, but not in something bigger than a gunboat.

Although I'm trying to join KNF, I think it's pretty pointless to have permission of their clan leader, as you are NOT KNF. If you would be a KNF member, than yes, but you are not.
Let's say you serve a different general and KNF has no power over you to give you orders, only your general. Any engage between you and KNF because of that is totally out-of-rp because although you are from different generals you are from the same navy...duh!

But well, changing to the other topics, you guys say the police shouldn't use a battleship. Right, I agree, it's more a "military stuff". But the police ID say their allowed ships are:
Maybe in the next mod version we need to change the police ID and take the battleship away.
But then, if we are limiting the police, that would be fair to limit military in something too. Maybe you could take the freighters or the transport away from them as carrying goods is more for the police... if it's a navy mission, they could ask help to the police, like an armored police transport transporting goods being escorted by navy pilots. A cooperation.
Maybe it's not 100% RP but just a thought that if the police ID needs to be changed and having this limitation, the military should have some too, like a thing police can do that they cannot.
roleplaywise its stupid to move in a battleship as a police, especially as an independent police. but shagobad isn t doing anything wrong here. the police ID clearly allows battleships and its a bit rich to say its allowed but not for YOU.
so, clearly no violation to any rule, but its a good roleplay regulation! - i think the KNF are doing perfecly what they should do. the kusari are jealously protecting their military hardware, in contrast to rheinland or, i guess liberty (allthough thats involuntarily, the liberty navy is the faction that has lost more than half of their brand new developments to pirates  good new designs but apparently poorest protection: ravens claw, spyglass, etc etc etc. )
i allways consider clans to be sort of VIP factions inside the regular factions. so as a kusari police you ARE part of the kusari police indeed, with all your rights and duties. the KNF clan is an elite faction within the regular kusari forces and so have the means to enforce their rules upon the regulars. maybe like a clique in school. if you re alone, you re just a pupil and there is that group of popular and influencial other pupils. they are setting a trends, deciding whats in and out. you don t need to follow it, but if you don t, they might bully you. so allthough you are within your schoolrules, they can make your life much more difficult. do they have a right to do so? - not a written right, but they have the power to do it anyway. in school, you can complain at your parents or the director, in freelancer you ll have to live with it. nither you nor the knf is violating a rule there. but in a roleplaysense it would be more efficient if you both worked together against who is really thretening the kusari space.
it should not be in the kusari interest to piss off a captain of a battleship, who affiliates himself with the kusari police. if they piss you off enough, you might just take your leave and soon they have a "rogue"-battleship against them, - which would be the very least thing they want. ( especially when the kusari battleship is a monster! )
