I'm contacting you today to address the problem of the current embargo that Kusari has placed upon Liberty. This was in an effort to coerce a change in our foreign policy. As the most prosperous house due to your corporations' contributions to the economy, I personally feel that this foreign affairs blunder from Kusari is comparable to that of a belligerent child driven by envy. That said, with the war with Rheinland and embargo from Kusari, fuel stocks into Liberty have begun to decline. Though this fall in supply has yet to affect commercial interests due to generously sized state stockpiles, these are not everlasting.

As such, the state wishes to do everything within our power to erode the effectiveness of the unlawful embargo placed upon our heads. What we wish you to do is, put simply, get H-fuel to Liberty's stockpiles by any means necessary. The state is willing to subsidize each shipment, to the tune of 600 credits per unit delivered, which would translate as a subsidy of 3,000,000 credits per 5000 units delivered. Each of your respective companies would also be contributing greatly to both the war effort and the smooth operation of our economy. As Libertonians, the prosperity of our home is close to our hearts, as well as our heads.

Of course, this is entirely up to you, but failure to take up this duty may have long term impacts for Liberty's economy as we re-gear towards a different, perhaps domestically produced fuel source. That's just speculation on my part, though.

Mr. McKay,

This sounds like a challenge, to me.
A challenge I'm most certainly willing to dedicate resources to.

However, as you know, Ageira Technologies has some rather well paying investments within Kusari, and so blatantly breaking their laws is not something I find to be a good idea. Indeed the same would be the case for DSE, whom we need on site to get things done with any relative speed. What Universal does, however, is both out of my hands and out of my care factor.

However, I myself do have somewhat of a track record for... Annoying the Imperial Throne.
A little more can't hurt, right?

I will see what we can do. We may have... Other opportunities open to us, but I will have to make some calls before I can give a definite.

Though, 'any means nessecary' is a very dangerous phrase, Mr. McKay. Is the Government willing to take the consequences if Kusari catches wind of this? If they find out it was a government order, things could get very prickly.

I would also like to know whether that phrase encompasses the destruction of Kusari forces, be they Naval, Police, or Corporate, to achieve this goal?

Subterfuge would be best, but if push comes to shove, any means necessary applies to any and all things that are, in fact, necessary. Restraint where you can would be appreciated.

Perhaps if you were to detour through the obviously dangerous Rheinland backdoor, you would be able to avoid endangering your interests in Kusari completely. The state benefits from the interests you have there, as do you, so any impact would be contrary to our mutual goals in this matter.

As for the concern that this information is sensitive and could endanger relations further, I trust that all here will, regardless of their participation in this directive, keep things confidential.

Mr. McKay,

Assuming Rheinland doesn't blow off our quote for repairs to their Gate/Lane Network, we will have secured the movement of H-Fuel within Rheinland.

Getting it over the border will be a problem, however. Still, we will see what we can do.

I'm pursing a lead with the Independent Miners Guild, we may be able to secure surpluses from them. I'm assuming you don't mind the origin of the Fuel? It's from the GMG nevertheless, even if it does change hands before it reaches us.

With relations with the Temporary Autonomous Zoners looking good, we should be able to bring the Fuel in straight through Baffin from the Taus, completely bypassing Kusari, besides a brief stay in Tau-29.

That is about all, I will report back when I have more solid information.

A request though, if you would be so kind, while I do enjoy trading words with Ms. Wolfe of the LSF, her assumptions of Treason do wear on the nerves. I would like her out of my way.

Without having to worry about the LSF crashing on sensitive meetings for the benefit of Liberty, I can get things done a lot easier.

I must apologize for the delay in this response, I had other pressing matters which had unfortunately been brought to my attention first. After discussing this with the Head of departments, as acting president I would like to inform you we are willing to assist in this war effort. In saying this, due to some recent hostilities between the emperor and Deep Space Engineering, this will be a dangerous move for us, and will require appropriate escort ships. I believe my head of departments has contacted you about receiving some support from Liberty for uses such as this. Also, as Mr. Drake pointed out, Deep Space Engineering is still needed in Kusari, so we will be protecting our interests in Kusarian space where needed to continue this, that means we will not be heading through Kusari to obtain this, we will need to take a more... round-a-bout route, but you will get your H-fuel all the same, as it is only right to support Liberty in its time of need.

We shall get onto this as soon as we are able.
