' Wrote:Well loosing Scrap does not kill off junkers, but it does take away our legal bread and butter living. As for smuggling? I was almost caught 1 time in NY. I mean almost cause i was never scanned, and docked at our base. And just because i was suspected of smuggling cause i never stopped for scan,i was put on KOS list for navy. So you can imagine what would happen if say a congress ship was caught smuggling.
Now everyone knows junker ships make poor combatants compared to most everything else,so being hunted by every house would kill off junkers very fast.
Now without scrap removal certain houses may decide they have no need for junkers to be around anymore, and decide to chase us out. Then where will go? back to Gallia?

No, they would just put us on everyones' kill on sight list. They want easy kills, that's all it has ever been. This argument could be quickly solved. Just place scrap as a commodity at our bases. Simple huh.

There is no real need to continually ask the admins to bring our scrap back. The poll results show that the community wants the mining mod back. So let's just wait until they decide what to do with those results.

Quote:In the meantime it sounds like you guys could use a little shake out of the bubble you've made for yourself. Junkers without the scrap mod are dead in the water? Please. The Congress was formed long before the mining mod was activated and were doing just fine.

That was back in the days where FR5ing wasn't as common.

If there is a problem with Junker RP today, I think it is the fact that since we're tagged, if one of us commits a crime, all of us commits that crime. The members of the Congress are supposedly "loosely organized", wouldn't that mean that Hawk and the rest of the Congress would have fairly little to do with an individual Junker's decision to smuggle?

More slamming of individuals, less slamming of their factions.

Back on topic.

Let's just all settle down til the trial period is over.

It is not about rock busting.. its about the scrap commodity Dusty. Of course your getting off topic and are attempting to divert attention from the original question.

I do not care about sitting around in a salvager rock busting anymore than I care about smuggling day after day.

The commodity is the issue not the method in which it is obtained.

The scrap needs to be given to bases to sell again if mining is to stay off.

If they could just place scrap at our bases for the duration of this "Experiment" and then tell us how long the said "Experiment" will last, then I think we will let the thread die down. Till then.

' Wrote:Here is the exact problem. Hawk and JT decided to make the Congress a more lawful entity. That was our RP, get it? Scrap was our commodity to continue with our RP. We know exactly what would happen if we started hauling contraband. We would be criminalized in every house, just like Kusari. There is no way to stop some indie freelancer from camping at every JH to take screenies of you, just to send it to every single house military and police. The very act of meta-gaming destroyed any chance of Junkers actually being quasi-legal. The Congress had a choice, continue smuggling and be declared criminals in every single house, or adopt a more legit form of trade in scrap. They chose scrap, that's our RP deal with it.

How about we make mercs not allowed to kill anyone. You guys must adapt, come on, deal with it. Start trading or something.

I'm not sure if you read what I posted. So I'll try again.

Just because you're trading to unlawfuls doesn't mean that you need to be hauling contraband. Setup trade orders. Move normal things. Maybe the SCRA remnant needs some stuff. Maybe some other group would be willing to put out some money for you guys to haul them goods that they need for reason Y.

In other words, become OSI? Yeah, that makes sense. Here's the deal Dusty. You stop being Mercs for the duration of the "Experiment." Start trading with the SCRA in the meantime. If you do that, I will stop bumping this thread.

The Junkers supply most of the house unlawful factions with supplies. It's a valid suggestion for something to do while you're waiting for all this to blow over. Might even give you guys a chance to look like you're here to represent every facet of Junker play.

Dusty, I could actually work with that. However, I would like some clarification on how long this is going to last. We have received nothing. The impact is huge, across many factions. We are not simply whining. We want a solution like everyone wants.

A very simple solution is to just place scrap at our bases. Is it incredibly hard to do that? If it is, then I am sorry for the bumping of this thread.

I don't think it is. So long as the prices for scrap are returned to their initial 4.85 levels and Pitts is nerfed then all Cannon needs to do is flip a switch. If I can do it so can he.

We would all like clarification. It hasn't come. They're still sitting back to watch what's happening it seems. Lots of people have been hit by this.

There is a thread. It is being reviewed. This thread is not effective.

Is that a serious suggestion? As far as I'm aware, SCRA want to kill us on sight for being cardi smugglers and supporters of the Outcasts. Even when that isn't what we're doing at the time. I haven't had a single encounter with them that contained the slightest bit of friendliness.
