So, I was puttering around, when I happened to drop by Cadiz base in Omega-5, one of the more cheery 'Sair hangouts I know of, when I started browsing the rumors. There was the usual stuff... 'Hessians must die,' 'Your hand looks tasty,' 'I hear artifacts make great paper weights,' ect. ect... When I stumbled across this little guy;
Now, that seems innocent enough. Just a ruthless criminal organization peddling its wares arcross the stars, nothing to out of the ordin... wait, what was that? What did that barkeep just say?
Oh... err.. *ahem* Now, I may just be reading way, WAY to far into this, but what exactly does 'Enjoy some "Brotherhood" before making a dash' mean?
Now, I'm not judging. It's the ninth century AS; relationships are getting pretty modern. And it's perfectly understandable, too. I mean, your a young Corsair, stationed on the front lines of the Omega war, you've just got back from a hard day of killing Hessians, and maybe you're looking for someone to spend a little time with. You have a few drinks, take some Tequila, and all of a sudden Jose in the corner is starting to look like a pretty nice fellow. Plus, it's the Omegas, right? Everybody experiments in the Omegas. Maybe you're just trying something out, or maybe you're going down the road to realizing the true hermano inside you. Speaking of 'Hermanos inside you,' it's not like you'd be the only one. It's a well known fact that Cambridge gents like to 'drive on the other side,' so to speak; Also, The Golden Crysthantamums sure know what it means to 'sample both sushis,' and as for the Bundschuh, well... don't even get my started on "Mr. Sparkly Shirt" Von Claussen.
So go on, enjoy a little 'brotherhood.' Just because you are the most hardened cholos in the galaxy doesn't mean you can't step outside the normal bounds of sexual attraction. After all, who am I to judge true love? (Especially when 'True Love' is sitting in a Imperator, demanding all my credits, and any personell on board that might make a good meal.)
Sure, sure, it could be perfectly platonic, but 'enjoying some brotherhood' seems like an... odd choice of words if you simply wish to relate the friendship between you and your male compatriots.
