So the problem is as it follows. There are two folders on my D: Partition that i cannot open. It says acess denied. There are some valuable files there that i need and i would appreciate any help. Let me explain further.
My Windows installation was corrupted so i formated my C: partition and installed a fresh version of Windows. Problem now is that those two folders were Administrator protected before and only i when i logged on my account could acess it. Now those folders probably don't reckognise me as administrator and refuse to cooperate with me . I have no idea how to unlock it and command prompt is bitching Acess Denied.... Any ideas how to open it?
well, In that case, if You "name" computer the same way, and You give the same name of Administrator then You could change permissions to this foldes by "Admin" account.
Yeah first thing doesn't work and with the second i don't know where to start. :lol:Should i download powershell or is there some other way to edit icacls or should i do it in cmd prompt. Yeah its not working like you said in Command-line too. Damn
And from Admin account You do not have a possibility of changing of access permissions? (just make shuer that Your "Admin" have the same name as before).
maybe You have a specific login - and that user have a administrator rights... in that case "Administrator" will do not have an access but User with that specific name will have.
edit
ad least I regained access in that way, I change name of my admin, and put the same name on my PC, and then I was able to gain access to my files.
