Still, they got an awesome fighter shipline and more story-wise access to the KuExplorer. No need for them to have a capital ship in those gas filled nebulas, it's not their style. 8-| Plus how would Kusari feel about some almost completely independent capitals near their home?
Um, how do they feel about the IMG capitals? And IMG even has 'independent' in it's name:)
But I agree they don't need bigger ships. They might need some better weapons though:)

It is every Corsair's responsibility to die a beautiful death in defense of Crete, regardless of how OORP or how capwhoring the opposition is. Launch your fighter, joust the battlecruisers and die a beautiful death. Then, drink it down in the bar.
' Wrote:I suppose you saw many times how a couple of bomber wings crush down a fleet of capital ships. Actually, the same thing happened during 80-years War. Due to knowledge of the battlefield, GMG dragged Rheinland Imperian Navy into gas pockets and took care of them there, where fighters collapsed in gas explosions and Cruisers and Battleships appeared to be fairily useless.
Sadly in real freelancer if a capship fleet comes to sigma 13 and parks inside the gas clouds, there's no way bombers can kill them.

GMG ID used to allow for all caps just like the IMG, BHG, and Zoners. Indeed GMG NPCs are far older then any of those mentioned and is far older then many many more Vanilla factions. GMG is been sovereign from house space for 600 years. So yeah the Disco devs tossed on the cap with the GMG ID like they did the others and players were left to work out the RP of em.
Then along came us, GMG|, the second GMG group to exist. The first was GMG- they used the caps and they raided and they were the first group denied official status. We argued to have the caps removed from the ID the moment we became official. The reason? Not because of any RP of the GMG group itself. Out of the above non-house factions mentioned, GMG can afford the fleet far more easily. Indeed we paid for the BD fleet and appear to have trillions to spare with out gold plated station saloons. It's because of the Sigma clouds.
Despite in-game mechanics, the Sigmas clouds make cap ships utterly useless against well trained fighting forces. GMG won a full war against a house fleet that uses caps without using caps themselves. Why would they spend so much to make a cap fleet after that?
Now. This was back when almost the entirety of GMG space was in the clouds. When we players only had the clouds. Today at least half of GMG space it outside of the clouds and includes a planet while also trying get a second. I've long begun the very slow proper process of hopefully having GMG caps, but not slapped on and reasoned after. To be done the right way with the right situation demanding for it. GMG has the three (or more like 2 now since one is wreck in OC system) BS it took from Rheinland. Next mod the Sakhalin Shipyard that was used to repair the BSs and manufacture paramilitary ships will be revealed. Devs willing I plan to spend all of next mod to have an rp engineer working with GMG to introduce it's first cap by 4.87, a siege cruiser similar to the BD one GMG funded. Biggest gun possible on smallest frame possible is right up GMG's alley.
So yeah, no caps. We do have a good ship line. We may only have an HF and a Bomber but we are proud of our HF and out Bomber. :ylove:
