I've been thinking about the Nomads and the Order. The Order's entire purpose was to defend humanity from the Nomads, however, due to the nomad faction being closed, there arnt many, therefore the Order have had to concentrate on the rather strange wars it has with Liberty, (Why are they still fighting now that the order has shown it is not a terrorist faction?) and the BHGC, (why fight, instead of work together to fight the aliens??) in order to have anything to do.
On the other hand there are often complaints about people who "just want to fight". If we allowed these people to play as Nomads, their desire to simply kill everyone they meet could be played out perfectly InRP, whilst giving a meaning back to the order, and making them more popular, and less "stupid Order raiding NY again". Also everyone would know what was coming when they saw the nomad, so they'd be prepared.

Nomads open use? Sorry, we're not talking about the typical normal player vs. newbie that doesn't understand English and/or the rules, but most players can't handle Nomad speak/telepathy/whatever, and I'm not excluding myself from that. I think the current Keeper recruitment process is sufficient. Nomads being allowed openly was made possible for one of the pre-4.86 events during June/July last year (I forgot when it was exactly), do you want that happening every day? (Albeit on a smaller scale.) I'm usually all for making stuff like this open, but given the way the Nomads work at the moment... No, just no.
I'll pass. Nomad RP isn't for beginners. I rather like the consistent role play the Keepers have due to it being a closed faction. You know, when they role play that is. :P
Good God, how many threads about this have there been in this month alone?

I tried my hand at creating a morph, and I sucked....just plain sucked.
It was actually much more difficult than I thought it would be.
Also, due to the fact that aliens are just cool, I think newer players would gravitate to the faction too soon, thus we would have nomads named bob who speak in lols and 2 mill or dai.
The Order in my mind should be a closed faction in it's own right. To a sense its just another 'LSF' -esquee faction where they're cool, and anyone who joins is.
The Order is meant to be super secretive and pure anti-nomad with some espionage missions in many places.
In-game they're handled as a military force in it's own right. Yes, they've got the technology and VERY experienced pilots, but manpower SHOULD be their main weakness due to their recruitment methods and secretive ways.
Nomads don't come on much since, when they do, the whole server goes "oh no you don't".

Order, sad I say this, needs to be closed.
I disagree - as far as I'm concerned, factions should only be closed when the majority of generally respected players (those that can play most factions and not be looked down upon by the community) lack the knowledge/experience to play a character in the faction.
