nice to have an update on gallic faction backstories. Now I need to get to work on making the Legion completely integrated into the updated brigand one.....
and thanks to you two for writing it up. I've been wanting a more in-depth history on gallic factions for a while. Maybe we'll finally get more people coming in at last....
what? i mean - i see it in the wiki, but only as a part of texts on other topics. is this a new npc faction to be presented in 86 and operates in gallic core systems?
the text in this thread indicates they are two-faced (and perhaps junker-ish). what would be their diplomacy?

Come on man, it's right there.
Quote:Solar Engineering
The company aimed to become an alternative space construction supplier in Gallic space, something that was considered virtually impossible in the Gallic space industry market that was controlled by the government and large corporations. Solar succeeded in getting the much-needed connections with the Royal Navy, which secured several high-profile construction contracts that helped to build the strong foundation for the company. [...] Today it also operates a large number of its own space stations, making it one of the most versatile space-based companies in Gallia, in some ways similar to EFL Oil and Machinery.
Solar Engineering appears to have unexpected insider sources of information within groups that won't usually affiliate themselves with any corporations. For example, in 686 AGS Solar announced the suspension of all its operations in Gallic Border Worlds. [...] Total enterprise value of the corporation is over 8 times less than EFL, 5 times less than the value of GMS, and half the value of IDF Shipping.
They're a rival corporation to EFL and represents at least a hint of the anti-Crown sentiment while still supporting it. It looks like SE has ties to the Council or its members, and plays both sides of the conflict. Much like GMS.
What's going on with the gallic junkers in 4.86? Or...even now, since there's no visible community consensus as to what exactly their position is in gallic society.
1. Are all the ships from 4.85 going to be taken out and replaced?
2. If they are not all going to be replaced, can the older models remain to increase the variety available?
3. Are the Moldy Crow and Raven's Talen (It's actually the Raven's Claw) going to remain in the updated
versions? Or are we just going to scrap the whole civilian line?
4. Is this actually going to be a war? Or is it going to be much like 4.85, people come and go, nobody is openly engaged unless there was pirate activity.
5. What do I use to make my own adjustments and combine content from both 4.85 to 4.86 in the future if I'm displeased with the number of ships taken out, changed, or replaced? I need editing programs just in case.
6. Will the Civilian lineups of ships get their own capitol class ships? (Not exactly as strong or top-of-the-line as the Navy's or Faction Guards, but still something to buy if you cannot afford faction made heavy equipment.)
7. There was a feature listed on the blog "Player docking on ships." This feature doesn't exactly explain itself, it could mean more battleships to dock on, but we already got those, so that wouldn't be anything new. Or is it, players can dock on player piloted battleships? That would be something new, but the listed phrase of the feature has me confused.
8. Is this mod relevant to any Freelancer clans in existence out there by the new additions? Is this mod attempting to be like my Crossfire 1.82 experience, a mod souly aimed at the clans who constructed it?
9. If 8 was answered no, then, are these new factions, and new systems made from stories generated by the authors imagination? I think it's amazing if so. (If 9 was answered yes, I will stop playing Discovery and discredit it. Clans don't exactly have a place with me, they are overly offensive and given me a lot of trouble. Just kills improvement Anyway...)
10. Whats wrong with the roll controls? In vanilla Freelancer, I can roll just fine, but it feels like Discovery disabled it for unexplained reasons, or changed something about it I don't know aside from assigning keys to roll left, or roll right.
11. This is a big list, but here is the most important question I got. Is there a master server list that prevents the use of listening servers? I have opened ports, I have tried to play it over the net. I have done a lot to host my own private Discovery 4.85 server. So far no dice, the console is giving me an error message "Failed to Connect to list server." I'm not sure what it means, but a list server usually shows addresses and servers through the internet for people to connect to by the list. I'm not sure why it's failing, I have a feeling it's more a rejection. Which is why I asked this question.
My reason for posting this here is to get everything cleared up. As Igiss himsef had stated in the first part of this post, that posting here is a better way but this to get in touch with admin decisions. And I'd love to know every detail about the upcoming Discovery update. If the Admins can email me with full information and answers to my questions, I would be deeply satisfied aside from possible answers that could be a let-down.
I am deeply sorry if anyone finds these questions offensive, or wont answer them, but as a mod user, I been kept in the dark about release times, details and more. And usually those mods die from inactivity.
I'd really like an inside look at mod development, and how these modding networks function. I been to many forums.
I know some folks maybe busy, but if the time can be found to answer these questions, you would have made my year and I would be on my way, never to bother anyone again if this post is intrusive. I just need answers, nothing else. Thanks for the wonderful years of Discovery. Oh and, Igiss, all your emails are too busy, your first statement about your email account wasn't accurate, as all of them are obviously flooded with messages and other things, so.. Maybe it would be a good time for PMs? Or something, maybe a phone call? I just need information, I'm not asking anyone to do anything rash. Thanks again.
Edit: Not sure, but, I may not have read all information regarding the mod's progress itself, somethings may seem a little blurred to me, and I'm not filled in on much. I haven't been with a community for some time.
