I don't disagree about additional turrets and maybe a stationary BS, but transport wise, what about a Prison Liner for Alaska? Given the number of prison stations, it's fitting ad logical.

So long as transports don't become indestructable when fired on by a cap I agree. If however it turns to transports being indestructable to caps I'd want caps indestructable to transports as well at the very least.

Otherwise its a good idea. I do also like the idea of caps being more resistant to bombers. I would however consider making it a different shield though and makeing the caps with it more damaged by other capital ships. Adds some sort of punnishment for the extra resiliance.

In case you won't understand it again, such statement does not imply that that phenomenon does not exists or is extremely rare or takes place in small-scale engagements only. (I feel awkward thinking about the need of explaining that...)
As for the topic - heh, why not, make fighters invulnerable to SNAC. Or make a SNAC deal a little AOE damage. I wonder if you need source code to implement such things...

Making transports immune to caps will lead to abusing the hell out of it. Battleship/cruiser hunting ptranses, anyone? Transports ramming the hell out of caps? Anything else?

SNACs are gun-type weapons. They can't be AoE. If you made it a torpedo type weapon that would come with all the flaws of freelancer missile weapons.

I actually meant as a player ship. It seems like an LSF Prison Liner could be pretty interesting.

I spose if SNAC's don't work too well on transports it may reduce the number of them. I actually didn't notice until now since I'm in a cap ship I'm not exactly in the business of scanning every single person that passes me, but pretty much every other ship seems to be a bomber these days. Definatly see a lot more of them than any other type of ship, well, excludeing transports maybe.

As for this apparent cap spam everyone still swears is happening I've not seen more than 4 LNS- or [LN]-LNS- tagged ships online at once for a very long time. And all these non tagged LN indies are starting to get on my nerves.

Happier now Dusty? I didn't mention A*****. xD

EDIT: Oh, not though any fault of thier own, but because they're untagged I have a hard time finding them these days.

Anyway, I don't know how much more we can discuss your idea... Yes, ok, we either agree or disagree with type-orientated defenses. I don't really think we need to do much more than make fighters more resistant to bombers/SNACs and Transports resistant but not invulnerable to caps. Consider that there might be major rebalancing issues if we took this further. I'm sure Mjolnir has his hands full already... right?

Basically I agree with you. The dev team can manage the numbers I'm sure, if the idea is considered applicable. All in all the discussion is pretty full well exhausted.

Furthermore, no, the OP was not aided by the lazy at work smartphone penmanship.

It should be removed that capships cannot be present during pirate activity then just for the sake the of lolwut Seing as how caps can be present during everything else lawful wise
