' Wrote:If we as a faction get complained at for being ganking PvPwhores who never RP at the same time as getting complained to for RPing too much and playing fair, you can't exactly blame us if we choose to not care what you complain about and just shoot everything, can you?
I personally prefer the RPing too much. Don't get discouraged or let the trolls get to ya McNeo! Keep on being a RP whore pretty please. I have always had a nice time when I'm chatting with an LN that prefers RP over PvP.
Also. You can't please everyone. So meh, just shrug it off and all is well.:D
I'm fine with shrugging it off, my point is more that these players who complain should question what it is they're complaining about before committing to the keyboard.
I'm fine with RPing. I'm also fine with just shooting things. I suspect the rest of [LN] are fine with either of these as well.

But, don't you think I'm homosexual, DRV? 8|
Thankyou for the kind words though.
I think people like to type first, think later.:P
And tbh I like it when I can haz a chat before fighting the LN. When I'm running for my life (obviously, since i suck at pvp), I'm not mad, upset, sad, disappointed or whatever over the fact that they didn't RP. I'm happy! Cause they did RP! And in fact more often than most cases I'm laughing my giddy ass off over my humiliation running from the coppers :3
Moral of the story. RP > PvP regardless of what Disco's coming to these days. (We vets need to make a time machine and travel backwards imo :/ )
Also.. that comment.. xD Hey, Card Captor told me everything!

That just made me burst out laughing, after already having laughed at McNeo's comment.

Transports aren't combat targets unless they make themselves so by firing.
This rule is there not so much for RP but for fairplay to protect traders, so, while I agree that the Harris's action were certainly in keeping with roleplay, I as a pirate cannot do the same to a trader, irregardless of it's keeping in roleplay.
If you're familiar with the current situation in EVE between pirates and traders (where the pirate gets the trader to pay 30mil and then blows him up and takes his cargo anyway), it's clearly apparent why we have this rule.
But that's besides the point, as the encounter started with two of the [LN] as exactly that, a lawful "piracy" attempt (piracy by server rules under 6.6).
A multi-part demand was made, I complied with the first part, stated my continued compliance with the rest and was in the middle of attempting to transfer the fine to.....whatshisname ,and the Harris came in and basically said " screw that, blow him up."
(well maybe not that crass, but it was the gist.)
gone four years, first day back: Zoners still getting shot in Theta :|
So I had some words with the pilot of Harris, and apparently this is how it went down in a nutshell:
Alan Polstari made a demand for a fine.
Harris flew in, overruled this and called for your immediate destruction.
Quote:6.6 Aggressors are not allowed to destroy a trade vessel prior to issuing a demand and allowing sufficient time to respond. Demands may be cargo, credits or an RP demand, such as leaving the system. "Halt" is not a demand.
Having asked around a bit, my understanding of this rule is that the term "trade vessel" is context dependent. I'm not sure what ID you had for example, but if it was a Pirate ID, I don't think you could be expected to be treated as a trade vessel. Equally, if you were pirating or in a position where you would like to pirate, I would think you would fall outside the bracket of a "trade vessel". The term itself isn't defined, as it would be replaced with the term "transport ship" if it meant all transport class ships, so it could probably do with some clarification.
I'm also dubious as to whether you can call levying a fine the same thing as piracy. Sure, you can argue how similar it is all day long and I agree, but again, the term piracy is context dependent. For example, it assumes unlawfulness. I believe we're all successfully pirated by our respective governments for parking our cars in a parking lot or breaking the speed limit. Well, I don't have a car, but you get the idea.
Or Joe can give a two line answer and ruin my day:mellow:
