Kinda new to Discovery Mod, still. I'm thinking about doing some "Exploration and Survey" Rp. Are there any ships in the mod that are designed for that specific Rp purpose? If not, I guess I could "adapt" a lux liner or something; but it would be much cooler if there are specific ships in the mod for that role. Thought I'd ask.
The Spatial is exactly that; available for 4mil at the Battleship Hood in Dublin. Pretty agile for its size, well-armed and armored, and a good-sized cargo hold for what is essentially a big fighter.
Our own Tannik Seldon uses one for exploration; if they didn't cost so dang much, I'd fly one too. =P
The X-Shuttle is an exploration vessel too. A weaker counterpart to the Spatial.
Also there is one Homeworld ship (don't know the name yet) classified as SHF, which can be used as exploration vessel.
if that's the Kith Somtaw, all you'll be exploring is the back of the ship because it dominates 80% of your display;)

to subjugate the enemy's army without doing battle is the highest of excellence."

AoM
Kiith Somtaaw SHF, or something. Sold on a battleship in Dresden, along with other Kiith ships.

Ack! No, not the X-Shuttle! I've got some experience in that thing...turns as bad as a battleship, and has only three turrets. And it's ugly. I honestly think the Spatial looks waaaaay better. =P
The Turanic Raiders Freighter might also be a decent exploration ship. Rugged and well-armed.
The Armored Transport would also be a great choice; not very agile, but well-armed and pretty tough. Also generic, and it's about the biggest ship that has ZERO docking/undocking problems. =P
There's a pic of an armored transport in my sig; the Pacifica. Also, Tannik Seldon's sig has a nice picture of the Spatial, though it only gives you a glimpse of that enormous asymmetrical wing.
