In a surprising diplomatic move, the Rheinland Bundestag presented the IMG with a cease fire proposal that was accepted by the diplomats of both parties after some short discussion. This positive development comes at the third and last day of an ultimatuum that the IMG had set after DHC had refused to enter negotiations about the distribution of access to resources in Omega 7.
IMG spokesperson Veronica Ryan confirmed that there was an agreement that was initiated by the Rheinland Bundestag and she called it a "very reasonable and well-worded proposal" and also stated that "it clearly shows Rheinland's willingness to proceed towards peace".
The main part of the solution will be the creation of a new Omega 7 Treaty, after the first one had failed, a failure that ultimately resulted in the outbreak of the Omega 7 Conflict.
According to IMG sources, the IMG will restrict their mining efforts to the Northern part of Omega 7 until the new treaty has been negotiated. All three mining companies, Kruger, DHC and the IMG will be participating in the new treaty. The Rheinland Bundestag might have the role of a supervisor, a diplomat that wanted to remain unknown commented.
The IMG spokesperson was asked by CNS reporter Anna Milery what the IMG will do when the Cease Fire is announced by Rheinland, and her answer was: "The Trade Department has already given orders to step up the Nioboum ore production in the Taus again, so that the mutually harmful economic bloackade can be ended. And... I will sleep for 24 hours, as most of the diplomatic staff will, likely".
It looks as if the Omega 7 Conflict could come to an end.
