"I'll leave you alone for awhile Ms. Devin, there are other matters that require my attention." Alex stood leaving the file on the table before exiting the interrogation room leaving Narelle alone. He made his way to the bridge.
"Someone tell me they know where Clyde is." He muttered dropping into an open chair.
"We're having some trouble with his tracker." A techie replied.
"Probably because the wanker tore it out." Alex sighed. "Well then we'll have to do this the old fashioned way. Call up Barrier Gate administration and see if anyone's seen him."
A loud banging on Clydes hotel room awakens him from his slumber. Around him lies a scene of total chaos. Overturned furniture, bullet holes in the media display screen, three dead sex slaves....
"Mr Barrow! Are you in there?" a voice bellows from the door. "Answer us please, or we'll come in!"
Crap!Clyde thought to himself. What the hell have I gotten into?He quickly gets up and replies to the stranger at his door"Who is it? Sorry, was asleep! Dog tired, y'know?"The voice tone changes and the voice tells him somebody has been calling looking for him."An Alex Drake has been inquiring about you."Double crap! Clyde thinks aloud to himself. He glances around the room and checks where all his stuff is."Alright then, thanks! I'll be out in a minute"
Clyde grabbed his gear, and made for the flight deck. It had dawned on him to check the time."HOLY SNAPPING DUCK ****!!! I been out to it for six days!!!! Someone is going to be pissed!" He got into his ship and started take-off procedure. He glanced at the comms screen and horrifyingly realized he had been on a task before his little escapade. He considered not showing up, as he knew if they didn't kill him, he would wish he was dead.
Jedd glanced up as he saw Clyde leave his ship, remembering Bonnie's rage about him and something about not sending him on a mission to get back up again - or something of the sorts, and how she had demanded he let her know as soon as he came back. Jedd nodded in Clydes general direction before getting on the comm unit to Bonnie. "Uh, guess who's back...."
Bonnie walked into the hanger, muttering something about how useless he was before stopping behind him, and giving him a hug. "Hey babe... have a good... hm.. week? was it?"She put on a smile, and waited for his response, before she stepped back and looked him up and down, seeing the mess he was in. She asked him if he was hurt, or had been in trouble because of the blood all over his clothes. She listened to what he had to say, and the mistake of him saying he was fine and nothing was wrong.
She raised an eyebrow and took out her gun, she now sounded incredibly hostile. "So. Can't even get back up for you're team ae. Lets not get into the fact that you left your -girlfriend- there getting shot up by the pigs."She ran her fingers over the etched lines. "I bet you've been on another bloody bender, right. Sleeping around with anything that has a heart beat, bet you didn't even want to know if we had got out of there alive. More to the point, bet you were so busy doing what ever the hell you were doing that you didn't even..... you know what, forget it."
She shook her head and sighed. "You're lucky I'm a fool and love you, otherwise you wouldn't be here now "[color=#000000]she raised her hand with the gun in it, flicking the safety on "Don't even bother trying to talk to me at the moment..."She stopped and frowned before continuing "I don't know why I'm even wasting my time here with you now. And no. I don't want to hear your excuses - I'm sick of them, every damn time, that's all I ever get from you."
She muttered something about him not caring about her, and that she should just leave him before she gets even more hurt as she went to walk off.
"Clyde," He began his voice uncharacteristically serious. "Why did I just get a call from Barrier Gate wanting me to pay for damages and the disposal of three corpses?"
When Clyde opened his mouth to respond.
"No, no, I wasn't finished. Look, I know you're a womanizer, I expect that kind of crap from you. But next time can the women not end up dead? And how about you don't put a bullet in a three million credit media center." Alex sighed. "Well its not my problem, the ten million in damages is coming out of your pay cheque, not mine."
He spun on his heel and departed leaving Clyde alone in the hangar again.
Clyde just stood there, dumbfounded that he wasn't incarcerated, or worse, dismembered. He walked towards his quarters thinking things have to get worse. His thoughts brewed, and he tried to recollect the last week. He remembered a moment that made him smile. Despite all the crap in his life, he still knows how to enjoy himself.
[color=#000000]Clyde got back to his quarters to find Bonnie there, getting together a few of her belongings in a small bag. She ignored him when he walked in, while opening the top draw and pulling out a few packets of cigarettes. She stopped what she was doing and glanced over at him, to realise she was more hurt and upset then mad.[color=#FF99FF] "Don't mind me, I'll be out of here in a minute. Then you can do what ever you want." She muttered, shaking her head - kind of hoping he would tell her to stay. Bonnie continued what she was doing, trying to find a key card to her own room, which hadn't been used for a long time. She gave up and zipped up her bag, lighting a cigarette as she gave the room one final look over to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything.
Alex walked back into the interrogation room they'd been keeping Narelle in.
"Get up." He ordered grabbing her and pushing her ahead of him out the door. A passing crewman raised an eyebrow. Alex slid a finger across his throat as he took her to the hangar. He pushed her into the cargo hold of his Eagle before taking off.
He flew a long way, all the way out to Freeport 14. He landed and opened the cargo bay. He walked in and released her restraints.
"You're free to go. It shouldn't be hard to get a shuttle back to Manhattan or wherever from here." He told her. "And incase you're wondering, I'm doing this for June. You die and she's an orphan... I was an orphan and hell, look how I turned out." He sighed as she got off his ship.
"I refuse to be the cause of someone else having to live my life." He closed the cargo bay and walked back to the cockpit before taking off back to the Intruder.
Clyde was feeling sorry for himself. Everybody seems to be hating on him right now, and the ten million credits that was transferred from his wages to the Barrier Gate Station was a serious blow to his income. How could he buy more sex slaves on five hundred thousand? Bonnie was royally pissed off... more than usual. Was he going to make it up to her? He didn't think he could, so he decided that the best thought was to solve the Rufus case on his own. At least find a new lead on the case anyway. He left his quarters, and headed to the mess. When he arrived, he headed to the bar, and got himself some Edinburgh whiskey on the rocks. He stood by the perimeter window and watched Alex' Eagle heading off. Where is he going? He wondered
Bonnie glanced up at Clyde as he entered the mess. She had no where else to go after she had lost the key card to her room. She had already drunk most of a bottle of Vodka and was more concerned about where her next drink was coming from then the dramas of the day. She had watched Alex's eagle leave, she didn't care to know where he was going. She thought it was probably to fix the problems Clyde had caused at Barrier Gate. She saw a recruit walk past and called him over [color=#FF99FF]"Uh... I need anoth.. another bottle of Vodka or ... hmmm actually, no. I want somethin' stronger if they got it. I'll.. I'll pay for it" She poured the last drink from the bottle and handed him the money for a bottle, telling him to keep the change before struggling to roll a cigarette.
