Well it seems history has a way of repeating itself indeed, ****ty game with a severe result. I was downtown from near the beginning of the rioting to just after 11:00 PM PST, quite the spectacle, quite something indeed.
I always thought Canadians were such a peaceful lot. Except for those crazy Quebecois of course;)But then BC has more foreigners than natives, maybe that explains it.
Okay. So for the first time, a Canadian Team has lost the Stanley Cup after hosting the Winter Olympic Games. I'm sure they watched the last two games. Vancouver played like that had already won. That's why they lost. So instead of taking the loss at value and being proud that they did what they did, the city riots? Pillages and murders its own people? Over a silver-metal-cup?
An absolute disgrace. Honestly. The Red Wings and Black Hawks had worse defeats in my opinion. For the second year in a row, we lost to the San Jose Sharks, and we came so close to rallying. We didn't riot. Same for Chicago (without the two-year-streak).
What a mess.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Too many stupid jerk offs ruining the fun for everyone and making our Province look bad.
The funny thing is people start complaining when they are shot, teargassed, and flashbanged. Well if you stay in that one zone (Which was considered a riot zone) after numerous warnings by the police when it was getting violent. Then darn well yes you deserve that.
A couple thousand drunken idiots making the other two million in the Metro Vancouver area look bad. That's all this was.
Vancouver is a fine city, and I'm glad I live in its greater metropolitan area. Multiple thousand people came out to Downtown today to take time out of their days to help fix up what was broken last night, something that I feel is an admirable quality of the people who live around here.
This was definitely an embarrassment, but these things happen. The people who instigated the riot will soon be arrested - most of them have been caught committing crimes (including vandalism and theft) on camera and the VPD is already collecting evidence from Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites.

Kid you are pretty naive here, sorry.
You better start thinking about the reasons of this riot.
Some drunken guys up one hundreds may be a single asocial event - but not more than thousands of people.
And I do not blame the Canadian supporters here.

The reasons behind this riot? This riot started because a bunch of drunks were pissed off that we didn't win the Stanley Cup. The police didn't quell it soon enough, and it got a little out of hand, as is usual with riots. Are you trying to imply that this entire riot was actually a conspiracy or something?
Please, elaborate, how many of the other hundred thousand people that were in the crowd were rioting? How many of them were committing sufficient crimes to deserve being hit with tear gas?
Tell me this: Do you live in Vancouver? Do you know the society of Vancouver? I do.
Oh, and future tip? If you're going to tell someone outright that you think they're wrong, don't say "sorry".
Off-topic: Has anyone else ever noticed that whenever I come back to Discovery, the first thing a random person does is troll/insult/yell at/try to start an argument with/etc. me?
