So I'm just about to go to bed when a friend on TS asks me for help in New York. So I hop onto my Hacker Gunboat and help him out against 3 LSF. We blow 2 of them up and the 3rd isn't doing much damage so we concentrate on the 2 BH GSs that showed up. we blew one of them up and then 3 Harvester capships (including a Prefect Cruiser with a full Nomad Turret loadout) shows up and destroyes us both. So I respawn and alt-tab to the forums. Chill out here, remember the FL is running and I should shut it down before I go to bed. I come back to see one of the Harvys that killed me threating that he's going to report me if I don't leave the system in 10 seconds. over system chat. And also some messages from a new player asking him if I can help. So I'm answering the questions of the new guy while staying docked and I mentioned that in system chat. The Harvy then starts yelling that I "died to his nomad turrets" and have to leave the system. again and again he yells at me. finally I get base kicked.
now, to many this will just sound like whining, but to me it symbolises a basic change in this server, even from the time I started here to now. people have become obsessed with winning and then punishing their enemies. and yes, I'm guilty of this too. but that doesn't make it right.
when I first started here a bunch of my friends asked me why I played such a crappy game. and my answer was simple, it's not the great mod that Igiss has built, but it's the community that makes people want to be here.
unfortunatly now that community, and my reason for being here, seems to have evaporated. sure I still have fun, but it's almost a drag reading these forums or going into a populated system these days.
mwerte, the constant system chat whining is annoying and the constant Flame fests that brew within the confines of this forum are equally so. But don't let that become a reason for you to leave us. It's not all bad and when the good times do roll around they are very good indeed.

Call in waaaambulance. Truth to be told - do you really care? More importantly, ask yourself: should you really care about every word spoken or types here? I surely don't, I absolutely don't, therefore I can have fun and I get that fun. The fun that me and members of my faction get. And look: I'm a happy person! :-) Alaska, get your tentacles ready...
Maybe some people in the so called community havent realised yet, that the "things" on the other side might be more humans, than machines... Nevermind... Something drives you mad? report it. Someone has a turret he shouldnt have? Why telling him? Just report him... Someone looks suspicious to you? Report him...
Another nice example of "rules over RP" behaviour...
As Treewyrm said... I dont care either anymore... (The problem occurs, when you actually GET fined, but that is another story...)
Mwerte, I've seen the same things happening. As Del said, the trick is to not let it get to you, cos the good stuff is still there. Take a break if needed, but don't leave.
He isn't leaving....he knows what I will do to him if he does...
I was the one that asked for help. We where doing well...I shot down my share. And died peacefully as I lost that battle in particular to several capital ships.
But when 2 capital ships, 3 LSF and a player re-engaging after death, come at you, its a rather large challenge. That I can handle. Its the 2 cruisers that came in after that topped it off. Then the ooc, and torment and silliness afterwards that ticked me off.
Kinda ruins the fight if you ask me.
Mind you....We asked for it in a way:rolleyes:
