This is Rookie Hoffmann, once again. And I am writing this report from my lifepod. Somewhere near Niverton Base in Pennsylvania. The fight is still raging on a few kilometres from me. Guess I'll start from a the beginning.
Officer Joe Giulliani was training me in the finer points of mining for profit when the call came in that RNC vessels had entered New York. I headed to the incident only to find the battle over and Swat Officer M. Rivers was taking his union-approved coffee break. We were then asked by a Navy officer to escort a Breton battleship out of the system which myself and officer Rivers proceeded to do. En Route to the California system we encountered an Outcast gunship which officer Rivers engaged. he ordered me to continue escorting the Bret out of Liberty, which I continued to do all the way up to California Minor. At which point Officer Rivers ordered me to return. I got as far as West Point when he informed me that there were reports of pirate activity in Pennsylvania. I headed to the jumpgate and encountered an Outcast bomber attempting to prey on civilians. I engaged it immediately, and did a fair amount of damage before officer Rivers arrived and ended the fight. We continued onto Penn where we found the Pirates engaging a Bounty Hunter? vessel near Bethlehem. A Liberty Rogue armoured transport was destroyed in the ensuing melee and we continued to engage the surviving vessel, now with the aid of an LPI-Recon vessel. A LR bomber soon joined the fray we continued to battle. The battle went on for an obscene amount of time, and we were eventually dragged into the Appalachian asteroid field where every would-be officer and navy pilot joined the fray, making things slightly chaotic (nb - would be nice if they all didn't cue up, they just lined up and added to the pirates' kill count). Near Niverton base I suffered critical damage and was forced to eject. And that's where I am now, just floating along. Hoping someone picks me up before long. Here's the single cam shot I could make during the battle.
