To: LPI High Command
Date: 02/04/821 AS
ID: Recruit Zeeroi Talbot
Location: New York, Detroit Debris Field and Planet Manhatten
Subject: First Patrol, Rogue Hellhounds and Outcast Tridente
Report 1
This was my first patrol with LPI. I was transported to Planet Manhattan with my Liberator and was awaiting orders. I was told to undock and remain in close orbit of the Planet, and I will find a superior officer who will let me tag along with his patrol.
My patrol began outside Planet Manhattan with LPI Officer Jack Bauer, who was piloting his bomber. We moved away from Planet Manhattan and took the tradelane to Fort Bush. Along the way, we received a transmission from LNS-Arkansas stating that there were two Liberty Rogue Hellhound gunboats just outside the Detroit Debris Field. LNS Arkansas was calling for assistance with the two gunboats who have open fired on his ship.
We made our way towards the edge of the debris field, and we were joined by to Navy 5th Fleet bombers, and it was clear that these two gunboats were not in the mood for conversation. We announced that we were engaging and began firing on them. As I was in my Liberator Light Fighter, I managed to draw the attention of one of the gunboats and led him around in circles within firing range of the LNS Arkansas. I took a few hits here and there, but managed to keep my ship together throughout the engagement.
After one gunboat was down, an Outcast ship had been spotted on our long range scanners 10K away, being the fastest ship I set to cruise speed and went to find out what class of ship it was. Within 6K I managed to scan his ship, it was an Outcast Tridente.
After relaying necessary information to the bombers and LNS- Arkansas, I drew the Tridente's attention back to the engagement with the remaining Hellhound. With the bombers and the Arkansas trajectories lined up, they made quick work of the outcast gunboat.
It wasn't long before the final rogue gunboat ran dry of shield batteries and nanobots, and was blown to dust in the debris field.
One final sweep of the debris field turned up a freelancer with an incorrect IFF (showing Hessian), after some questioning, the freelancer agreed to get his hardware checked out to fix this glitch in his ship's neural net.
We returned to Planet Manhattan, and debriefed the patrol. 5th fleet and LNS-Arkansas returned to their stations.
