---- Patrol Report----
To: LPI High Command
Date: 02/05/821 AS
ID: Recruit Zeeroi Talbot
Location: New York, Planet Manhattan to Colorado Jump Gate
Subject: First Solo Patrol, Black Market Munition smugglers
Report 2
After my first day on patrol, I debriefed with my supervising officer. My performance was satisfactory during that patrol, but not the level of excellence that LPI strives for, I needed to commit more and give more to the force.
His words were, "I've seen you in training Recruit, you ain't the best we got. You ain't bad, but you ain't the best. Which means you are like the rest of us, you gotta work to get to where you want, and I have seen you working hard enough. How many solo patrols have you done? You know, routine patrols, just along the tradelanes in the home systems. Nothing fancy, nothing dangerous, don't what you getting killed, but theres a job that needs doing, and why not you to do it?"
I had never done a solo patrol, not since joining as a Recruit. I figured the Sergent was right, I ought to take initiative and do more for the LPI and prove I am worthy of this position. Damn, I wish I had at least done one solo patrol before that debrief, that would have saved me from wiping at least half of the Sergent's spittle off my helmet and face.
I went down and spoke to some of the other officers in orbit around Planet Manhattan, and I figured my best bet for a routine patrol would be along the tradelanes to the Colorado Jumpgate. Off I went, with a full set of nanobots and shield batteries, and as many cruise disruptors my little fighter could take.
It wasn't look before I spotted two rookie smugglers holding Black Market Munitions, two full cargo bays of it. I proceeded towards them at full cruise speed and ordered them to halt. They cut power to the engines immediately, and I instantly thought that was far too easy, something must be up. I approached them and begin making my arrest, and demanded they drop their cargo. It wasn't long that they decided to make a run for it, I managed to disrupt their cruise engines, and just in time the LNS-Arkansas appeared. At which point they started to fire on us, and I gave the Arkansas all clear to assist in engaging the smugglers. It wasn't long until black market munitions were scattered into space and destroyed on sight, except for a few samples taken for evidence. With a quick debrief with Captain Walter of the LNS Arkansas, the scene was quickly cleaned up and my patrol came to an end.
It was an eventful second patrol, something my liberator ship could handle, not like the Liberty Rogue gunboats from my first patrol, which just made me feel adequate.
I am starting to feel like I just might fit with this faction, so long as I keep working hard and prove my worth.
