Priority: Medium
Subject: Patrol Report
The Morning began with the smell of freshly ground coffee, Jelly filled donuts and the anticipation and nerves of a new recruit about to begin his first patrol of the skies in liberty. What do i expect? what would happen? and would i make it home to my family?. As i sat idly stiring my coffee i had to put these thoughts out of my mind. "I must not hesitate!" i kept saying to myself. If i did, i would be brown bread. Before i knew it the clock struck 9 and i made my way accross the landing deck to my ship. I looked up at her. Freshly out of the washomatic 5000, she gleemed in the sun, a sense of pride filled my chest and i knew that whatever came i was ready, this was my moment! All pre flight checks completed i took one last look at the Sunbucks Coffee cup and made my way into the big black.
My Patrol started in the New York System, out of the docking rings i made my way to the West point trade lane. "so far so good i thought". After the trade lane system was under way I double checked everything was in order. I looked down at my uniform, "not a crease in sight". Suddenly there this almight jerk as the trade lane juddered to a halt. A quick check of my scanner confirmed my fears. Rogues!. Well just one in this case a Mr Ralph'O Brien. Upon contact the Rogue opened fire there was little time to think, my instincts took over, weapons hot!. It was a short fight and i managed to deal with him with ease. Just before i dealt the fatal blow i saw his lifepod shoot away from the ship. A quick tractor beam and he was in my cargo hold. A quick damage report showed me no damage and only a few scratches and i decided to head on. West point was clear, a few freelancers flew past and were scanned but none carrying anything of note.
Next i decided to head to Baltimore ship yard. As this was my first patrol and i was flying solo i thought it best to stay close to populated area's. Again Baltimore was clear and decided to head to the Calarado Jump gate, with the intensions of patroling through Calarado. *BANG BANG* "Keep it down in there!" i shouted, Prisoner O Brien was a little agitated. "Don't worry, you'll be outta here soon and behind bars where you belong!". As i reached the Calarado Gate a transmission came through for LNS-Sol. It seemed he was on patrol aswell and we decided to group up to complete our tour. I turned away from Calarado and rendevoued at west point. From here we went to the California Jump Gate and proceeded through with Sol going first. "All clear" was the transmission crackled through as i made my jump.
From here we docked with the trade lane and made our way to Mojave and then onto Caliornia Minor, with no incidents. We then proceeded round to Los Angeles via the Magellan Gate. "This is quite" i thought to myself. From here Sol Suggested we use the Texas Jump Hole which we did again with Sol going first. "Weapons Hot!" i heard through my coms, I had to jump fast and shoot hard. As soon as i was through they were on top of us, 5 Rogue ships. Fire was everywhere, a qucik thrust forward and a spin and i could see all my targets. Me and Sol made quick work of them, collected our prisoners and made our way to the trade lanes.
A couple of trips round and through houston and the skies were clear, we decided to make our way back to New York for repairs and to IL to drop of my prisoners, however this was not the end of my day. I decided to take the lead jumping through to NY. As i got through all i saw was red across my dash. OUTCASTS! EVEYWHERE!. It took all of our skill and a little help from the supporting turretts on the gate and all targets were destroyed and all prisoners in my cargo bay. My ship was full, i could feel the weight slowing me down. i slowly made my way back to base and deposited the scum to where they belong. I made my way back to Manhatten, scanning everyship in sight being the eager beaver that i am.
I was glad to see those docking rings as i knew that once i was though those i was safe. As my feet touched the ground on the landing bay i could feel the sunsets rays on my face. "Ive Done it!" "i can walk tall and feel proud". A smile stretched across my face. "I could sure go for a god dam donut!"
