Well, when I'm not busy being drafted in as support against pirates, terrorists, and other such types who are super super dangerous to a lone Liberator, I'm more than happy to get engaged with some actual policing. I've always wondered if the local civilians find us more approachable than our Naval counterparts. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case, since I know for a fact that things are like that up north in Kusari.
One way or another, I got an anonymous (or, well, anonymous other than the comm signature) tipoff about an incoming Cardamine convoy from the direction of the Barrier pass. Naturally, I treated the information with the healthy skepticism it deserved - you can never be sure exactly who or what is filling your cockpit with those urgent 'incoming message' beeps - but no sooner had the guy told me about the incoming two-man convoy than the TLAGSNET system got tripped by the first of the two jumping into our space. Normally, I don't have the time to overload my Libby's battery pack by requesting a detailed scan-packet of every ship that passes through, but in the interests of confirming the tipoff, I thought I'd give it a go.
Long story short, I intercepted both transports as they were making the transit into New York, and they managed to get a slight head start down the lane to West Point as my Liberator struggled to reengage the jump vortex. Luckily, though, I was able to catch up to the pair as they exited back into normal space at the West Point junction, and managed to disable their docking computers shortly before they split up. I myself dealt with the arrest (and eventual destruction) of the uncooperative Silver.Rush, and Officer Turrets on the LPI-FCI-Butner.Low scrambled to intercept the other. After a long and arduous chase, the other smuggler (by the name of Asteroid.Blues) was corralled into Colorado while trying to scramble towards Rochester, and was eventually destroyed as well.
