Maverick here, reporting my second patrol. I started the loop off today with another recruit officer named James Booth. He had to abruptly go, but he didn't specify why. Nevertheless, I continued to travel around, scanning cargoes and stuff for a while. Nothing happened for a good 15 minutes, then I received this message from a ship named "RS_Greendragon".
"Hey, there are many Cardamine smugglers in Bering."
This Rheinlander told me there were smugglers around in Bering, and I predicted they were heading for Texas. For this mission, I brought in backup: the Liberty Carrier "Blue Aurora". We blockaded the entrances to New York in Texas, and waited. After an extremely long wait, we predicted we were either duped, or the smugglers took a different route to their destination. The Rheinlander never gave me the callsigns of the smugglers, and I couldn't ask him before he signed off the neural net.
After returning to New York, I scanned a few more cargoes, and then suddenly the network picked up on some Hellfire ships near the Pennsylvania jumpgate. I went into gear, and proceed there. However, when I reached Manhattan, a Xeno ship appeared out of the blue. I began my chase! I disrupted his cruise engines just before he reached the tradelane, but he managed to get them back going and escaped to the next lane. I would have gone after him, but for some reason the lane was malfunctioning and I couldn't properly initiate a lane jump. We lost him, and the Hellfire ships. Luck is just not on my side these days. Everything either escapes or doesn't happen.
That's all for this report. There's no attatchments to put in either, so this is Maverick Garza, signing off. *Munch munch*, mmm...DONUTS.
