From: Detective Sarah Walker To: One Police Plaza Subj: Patrol Log #10
Patrol Log, 1st December, 824 A.S.
My shift started at 19:00 from Forth Bush. After a full lane patrol in Texas, New York, California and Colorado, I moved in front of Manhattan to begin traffic monitoring.
The TLAGSNET detected a suspicious vessel in the Colorado system, moving towards New York. I decided to move out and investigate.
While monitoring the NET, the target exited the lane somewhere between the Pueblo Station and the New York Gate. After that, the NET could not find its location. I waited a couple of minutes by the gate, hoping he will jump in, but nothing came through.
Seeing as he is nowhere to find on long range scans, I came to the conclusion he took an alternative route, so I made haste towards Rochester.
My hunch was right, he was within 8km of the station when I picked him on the scanner. As I rushed towards him, he managed to get docking clearance from the station.
I did manage to approach close enough to get some scans of the ship. I was too late though, he was already docking by the time I was there. I did not bother to ask for a station inspection, since the junkers would had required me to show a search warrant, since they know such a warrant would take time to get, enough for them to clear the cargo hold when I came back with the warrant. Just keep a eye out. I am sure this pilot is not at his first job as a smuggler.
After that, I returned in orbit of Manhattan to keep surveying the NET. The traffic was high, lots of traders, freelancers and corporate ships. But with all that data to filter, one did stand out. A Liberty Rogue. He was in the middle of the trade lanes between Manhattan and West Point Academy. He did manage to stop a trader and he was attempting to extort him.
I rushed at the scene, but just as I exited the trade lane, he entered and made a quick run towards Manhattan. I followed him, but he already got the advantage.
I did mange to chase him off through the Colorado systems until he made his escape in Galileo system via a jump hole.
While I was returning back to Manhattan, close to the planet I encountered a Corsair Warship, fighting Navy. I jumped right in, trying to keep the ship disrupted so it can not escape.
The Navy was swift and their batteries made quick work of the ship, leaving nothing but a field of debris for the junkers to collect. No civilian was hurt in the attack, it seems like the warship was operating alone. I do believe this warship is somehow connected to the increase activity in smuggling of artifacts. It could be that the Corsairs are making a more aggressive move on the Libertonian Black Market.
I must say it is odd on how such a warship could get trough all the way from deep Omegas, into the heart of Liberty. I do feel the Liberty Security Forces are slacking.
That is all.
