Well, the rumors of my death are exaggerated, I am very much still alive. I am writing this on a data pad I liberated from one of the nurses here in Manhattan General Hospital, They say I am supposed to be resting or some such thing.....
Lets see, the rest of my report.....
I launched from Fort Bush after dinner and started my patrol in front of Planet Manhattan. Out of almost nowhere a Harvester appears a the Manhattan - Fort Bush Trade lane. I opened a channel to it, challenging it, asking what it's intentions were. It skittered off and I didn't see it anymore. Next thing I know, it comes out of the West point to Manhattan trade lane and starts shooting up the place.
I started to maneuver my ship to make a distress call for assistance, when my ship was hit. I ejected and tried to make the Manhattan docking rings, but the Harvy tractored me in. I remember my pod being in it's hold, how it was.... taunting me. I knew this was a hopeless situation, I wasn't going to come out alive. I activated the Imminent Death option on the life pod and let the metal monster know as much.
Apparently, I don't taste very good, because the Harvy ejected my life pod. It sat there for a second looking at me. I aborted the countdown on the Imminent Death option. I just got this funny feeling wash over me that he was going to fire on my pod. I hit the eject button for the Imminent Death option and started up the motors to get out of there. The Harvy fired a couple of seconds after I ejected it, hitting the mine. The blast from the small Nuke mine kicked the He*l out of that life pod. I remember accelearating at all sorts of crazy angles, then I blacked out.
After that, I don't remember much until I woke up in the Hospital. Doctor says I am fine, and I will be able to resume my duties. I look forward to seeing all the guys and gals again....
End report
