Woke up this morning and started patrolling the Manhattan Docking ring looking for trouble and smugglers. There was a distinct lack of either. Sergeant Smith came on patrol and we started to make sweeps of the areas. Had to remind a lot of ships that parking is over by the LPI depots, otherwise parking tickets would be handed out.
I was contacted by a Zoner by the name of The.Grmlyn, who had witnessed an outcast attack earlier in the day and had rescued a number of military and civilian pilots. I contacted the LN and LSF, and found out who would retrieve said pilots.
Sarge Smith and I linked up with a LSF representative and flew to the Rio Grande in the Colorado system to assist with the transfer of Pilots. Very nice chap that Zoner. We flew back to Manhattan and transferred the pilots to medical to be looked at.
Next we spotted the Lane Hacker Phosphate hanging around Manhattan proper. He was warned to leave and scoffed at us. Many of the civilians and unlawfuls seem to be under the impression that we are still a bunch of donut eating morons. Imagine his surprise when Sergeant Smith, myself, and a few Liberty Navy fighters engaged him and that Freelancer Anthony Ryans. Ryans... There is a guy that needs <strike>fragged in his sleep</strike> to have a bounty put on his head and added to the KOS list. I had to disengage from the fight due to numerous Bounty Hunters showing up and getting in the way. Interspace Insurance would have had our heads if we vaporized a Bounty hunters ship. I worked the crowd, keeping them back away from the fight so no one would get hurt. Only 1 bounty hunter didn't listen and got vaped for it, his name is [Bounty Hunter]. Original I tell ya. Ryans dispatched him for interfering in his fight
Sergeant Smith was hit and out of action, but Phosphate met his end. Ryans fought his way to a draw and withdrew. I picked up the Sergeant and dropped his pod off at Fort Bush. I also dropped off [Bounty Hunter] at Fort Bush. As Sergeant Smith was launching in his back up fighter for us to go patrol Colorado, [Bounty Hunter] opened fire on Sergeant Smith and destroyed his ship! I tried to catch the ungrateful filth, but he engaged his cruise engines. I placed a system wide alert for his hide. Liberty Naval Units went searching for him.
An unconfirmed rumor has it the one of those A.D.M.I.N. apparitions may have had something to do with [Bounty hunter]s disappearing act, because we could not find him.
Took a short break for lunch, and relaunched. I was immediately notified of Xeno incursion into NY space. They were broadcasting their so called "Radio Free Liberty". The Navy mustered all Liberty Lawfuls at West Point. Sergeant Smith, myself, and Officer Hamilton(?) responded. The Navy needed a light fighter to do some recon work, and I volunteered. I recced Rochester, there was no one there. I then had a hunch and approached Detroit Munitions. Bingo! 3 Xeno Alliance fighters, one of them being Sidewinder himself.
Liberty Naval Forces and LPI Forces mustered in Manhattan orbit and proceed down the tradelane to Detroit Munitions. Boy were those Xenos surprised. The large capital ships stayed out of the fighting, but us fighters were fully engaged. None of the Xenos escaped.
Back to Manhattan to reload and restock. I needed a quick break after all that. Little Did I know what was yet to come.....
Shortly after the Xeno incident, word came from a number of traders that there was a large contingent of outcasts and Liberty Rogues operating in the California system. They were attacking traders, even destroying a couple. Again the Liberty Navy and LPI forces gathered at West point for an all out assault on these undesirables. Sergeant Smith, Myself, and Officer Hamilton (?) were asked to lend a hand. Ageira Lane Security-Charlie was even enlisted to help.
All ships jumped into the California system. The larger capital ships stayed behind, because the biggest thing the ruffians had was 1 gunboat. The one gunboat belonged to LR.Gunboat.Diplomat .
At this point we were joined by and lead into battle by Admiral Hale of the Liberty Navy. We concentrated all of our firepower on the gunboat, dispatching it rather quickly. Sergeant Smith knocked down another outcast fighter, but was hit and out of the fighting. Officer Hamilton (?) fell sometime later. I kept on fighting, determined not to have to eject today. In the end, all of the bad guys fell to our guns. I think I surprised the Admiral by surviving thru the fighting. I had no shield batteries left at the end, and quite a few scars to the skin of my ship. He called that fight "A Light Fighters Nightmare" and congratulated me on making it thru.
I reported for an extra shift tonight and launched from Fort Bush. A LN fighter needed assistance with a trader in an advanced train by the name of Jonathan.Leblanc. There is another guy that need to be <strike>fragged in his sleep</strike> added to our KOS list. He is already KOS by the Liberty Navy. I attempted to help stop and destroy this target. I got multiple hits with my Train Cruise Disruptor. He wasn't running anywhere quickly. I closed on the target, having to jink to avoid his fire. The target made a sudden turn and erased my shields in the progress at the same time as I had deployed a mine. This maneuver also caused my mine to track on me.
After all that I survived today, my own mine did me in. I had to eject.
Well, my ship was towed into Fort Bush; the mechanics tell me it isn't so bad. If I had Nuclear Mines, things would have been a lot worse. Mostly a few patches and it will be space worthy again.
Looking Forward to doing it again tomorrow.......
