Yesterday was truly another amazing showing of the Liberty armed forces ability to quickly organize its ships and defend out homeland. I can see that officer Justice has covered pretty much all of the successfully repelled Outcast assault on Manhattan, so I will just add some of my activities before and after the attack.
I went on my relatively new Roc bomber and joined with Sgt Maggard for some embargo enforcing. Everything was going pretty well - we turned away some traders. A quiet morning it was...until I ran into a hackergunship camping the NY > Houston lane. After refusing to leave, he threatend to destroy my ship, unless I pay him. I warned him that threatening and extorting a police officer is a crime punishable by death and we engaged him (sgt Aidan has already arrived on the scene). The hacker put up a good fight but fell after a few consecutive direct hits from our Supernova cannons. His punishment was performed by blowing up his escape pod.
After we moved to NY to do some patroling, we bumped into a smuggler carrying a load of cardi. He managed to land on Manhattan but not before video evidence the cardi he had. Upon undocking he was halted and charged. He tried to escuse himself by telling us he did not know that cardamine was illegal and crap like that. After he was given the ultimatum - pay the fine or be arrested he paid and was released.
This was the last event worth mentioning before the outcast fleet attacked.
After the assault was over and we began our sweap of NY in search for any fled or somehow survived hostiles I saw a navy vessel stopping a transport vessel, I stopped by to check out what is the situation. Turned out the transport was hauling nearly 5000 units of counterfit software. He also tried to get out of the situation by clearly lying to us. He claimed he did not know that this software was illegal. After some threats he dropped his cargo but refused to pay the fine. Seconds later his ship was put out of commission by sgt Maggard and the pilot was detained for prosecution.
