After Action Report:
Well, seems my last weeks' reports have kind of gone lost during my previous attempts...pity. Well, I'll summarize the events of the most noteable patrols.
10.07.818 - During a regular patrol a lone Rheinland Battleship is discovered by LSF agent Adrienne Perry in Texas. I received a call for assistance and quickly returned to Fort Bush to hop into my Roc Bomber. The Battleship, designation "Jarek_RM" was daring enough to misuse the Houston - New York Gate lane and dared jumping into New York. I have no idea how the vessel managed to override security regulations, especially as I was on site and had locked the gate down. Well, by now we also had the LNS-Tumwater, a Liberty dreadnought informed that was moored at Norfolk shipyard. It aborted the routine maintenance as quickly as possible and headed over to us, setting up position in New York to intercept the battleship. In the meantime, we still weren't able to muster more forces, so it was the Tumwater, Agent Perry's Upholder and my Roc. The Rheinland battleship didn't waste many words and quickly opened fire on the Tumwater, which used thrust to keep a safe distance while we engaged with our bombers, desperately trying to avoid the Solaris turrets. After we had the shield downed the first time, the Maelstrom, a unique vessel, using many armor elements known to be rogue-ish, but on a ship that was big enough to be regarded a destroyer. The Maelstrom joined forces with us and with its impressive weaponry (see background) we disposed of the battleship in a matter of three minutes. No losses on our side.
12.07.818 - Just after I started my patrol, my comms noted an offer about "liquid cardamine" being made on system-wide communication channels. In New York. I quickly joined communications with the few secondary law enforcers avaible to get a possible fix on his location, but no intel was avaible. So I proposed myself as a potential buyer, tricking him into believing I'd buy it to make sure it doesn't reach "the streets". On this, he revealed his location to me and demanded to meet there. Location was the small dark matter cloud in the Pittsburgh Debris field that is known to be a den of rogues. I managed to get him to agree to move the rendezvous 15k closer to Pittsburgh while I coordinated several other law enforcers to remain as stealthy backup, some at Pittsburgh, others heading in from Norfolk and Fort Bush, so we could make sure he doesn't escape. Upon moving to the rendezvous, I quickly managed to scan his vessel, a Pelican class transport and verified the contraband. Sadly, at this point one of the secondary officers made a dumb mistake and moved too close, giving away the farce. He charged cruise engines at this point and tried to return to the nebulae, but I managed to disrupt him several times. We still might have had a chance, but just at that moment the [HF] Incursus was reported 10k from Fort Bush, and half our wing broke off to try to intercept it. Sadly, the Incursus apparently had the same destination as the smuggler so I aborted pursuit soon and returned to the safety of Fort Bush. A real odd "luck" the Incursus showed up just at that time, at that place, heading to the same location, right? Perhaps there's something sinister going in between these two parties? A real pity though we didn't manage to nail this smuggler down. Especially after all the work on that setup, which took over one hour. From now on I'll be sure to only work with primaries and selected, trusted secondaries on such "complex" missions.
