Liberty Space, New York sector, Fort Bush station.
Hull O'Brian entered the station after escaping...errrr... "signing" himself out of Manhattan General. He headed for his office and stopped short in front of the door.
There was yellow tape on it notifying everyone that the office wasn't to be entered unless okay-ed by the Chief.
"Heck, I am alive, and its my office." Hull tore down the tape and unlocked his door. A new flatfoot Hull had never seen came over and informed him that he couldn't go in there.
"And why is that officer?"
"That office was Hull O'Brian's office. He is still in the hospital. Its a wonder he is alive. Everyone thought he was dead."
"Really now?" I asked. "and if I go in, who are you going to tell?"
"I will have to detain you and call the Chief"
I opened the door, and I pulled an extra uniform out of the closet. I paused for a sec, tossed a phone to the flat foot, and told him to make his call.
While he was busy, I put my uniform on. Then I remembered, I need to take off the Chief of Police collar devices. Having done so, I reached into my desk and retrieved the old Deputy Chief ones and put them on.
The flat foot came back with the phone and started to say something.... Then he noticed the LPI Chain of command pics on the other wall, then looked at me, then looked back. I thought he was going to
break his neck with all that swiveling.
"I will take that phone now, and thanks for telling the Chief I am in the office. Dismissed"
I sat down at the desk and looked at all the paperwork. I logged into the Computer system and twice that amount of work too.
I suppose I will get a butt chewing from Myers for going off alone to look for him. I will also need to do a mission report on what happened.
There was one file on top of the ones on my desk that got my attention, it had a red 9 on it.......

Patrol Report
Filed By Hull O'Brian, Deputy Chief of Police.
Date: March 31, 817AD
Fort Bush, New york
I was tiding my office when a report came through that 2 officers were engaged by 2 freelancers. Now this was unusual, and bore further investigation.
I launched in my Libby (God it was good to be flying again!) and took the lanes to Norfolk Shipyard in New York. Slightly past the Shipyard, I saw a Freelancer tagged Austin.Blazer and Joe Banjo. The Banjo Character had a freelancer IFF, but a pirate ID, the other one was a just plain old freelancer.
Now I understand the Pirate attacking, but the plain ole Freelancer? I personally recommend that we <strike>catch these guys and string em up by their testicles and shove hot French Fires into their eyes</strike> add both to the Criminals database and have them hunted till their descendants feel it.
I observed two of our officers were engaged, and I felt the hair rise on the back of my neck. Obviously the gene pool was getting polluted, and were we going to be the chlorine. I entered the fray, and went at it. Blazer was shot down in short order, so that left the Banjo.
Banjo? Now I know the saying of "Infinite diversity, Infinite possibilities", but this guy was taking it to the extreme. A gun rack made out of empty beer cans, and bumper stickers that says "I love Possum Jerky", "Eat at the Road Kill cafe", and finally "Buck lure makes good cologne". Really?
To cut to the chase, a Navy fighter of the Gold Squadron arrived, and wanted a piece of the Banjo. He had a beef to settle with this guy, so we backed off and let him have the Banjo. Gold 19 was his callsign.
The Banjo attempted to talk some **** to the Navy fighter, something about his aim, when he got smoked faster than that jerky he was eating.
With that, the patrol ended and I returned to Fort Bush.

The Chief moved over to O'Brian's office and looked in. There was his trusty right-hand man, the indispensable Hull O'Brian.
"Hull ya old bastard! Seems you're one hard mother to take out, eh?"
Myers laughed good-naturedly.
"I don't know if I am hard to kill, or someone is lookin' out for me..." Hull said. "God protects Fools, Babies, and LPI officers."
The Chief sobered. "We look out for each other, Hull. It's the only thing we got." He knew, of course, that the good Sergeant would always be one of them.
"Uh, Chief.. Matt.. I really didn't mean to pull such a bone headed stunt. I was really PO'd that someone took a swipe at ya, and we weren't getting the info that you had survived. When I was handed those CoP bars.... It really seemed like that was it... you were gone... and so was a little bit of hope we need in this Hell-hole of a galaxy."
"It'll take more than a few bullets to stop me. Or diabetes. We got a job to do. Also, I uh.. had a talk with a 'friend'. He said you were going to find Moore? Is that... the Moore?" The Chief had his suspicions.
Hull looked down at his desk... and measured his words carefully.
"Yes it was. I thought he was set up back then, and I still think he was setup. He was and ... is.. my friend. I know he isn't Liberty's most welcome celebrity, but we have saved each other's bacon back in the old days..."
Hull looks far off into the past.. and waited for the response that would tell him if he was still trusted. The Chief was quiet for some time.
"We all sometimes... do what we feel necessary, Hull. Sometimes the line between friend and foe gets too blurry for comfort. Just be sure who's got your back when the **** hits the fan, eh?"
"I got that five by five Chief. Somewhere along the line I think I grew a set of eyes in the back of my head...."
Matt chuckles, and is back to his 'normal' self. "Comes with the occupation, Hull. I got eyes in more places than you'd think." With a wink and a 'nice to see you', he's out the door.
Now I wonder who this Friend was the Chief talked to... thought Hull as the Chief's large frame receded into the labyrinth of offices.
Naw, couldn't be.... or could it? He is always pissed when he sees me.
And how did he know where to find me?

' Wrote:I Officer Michael.Zanero, wish to join SWAT.
Today, Police and Navy officers came under heavy fire from Rogue Gunboats and Bombers.
with only a couple of fighters(i was among them) , and a liberty gunboat to counter them, they were wiped out, and the Rogues managed to take control of Colorado, and parts of Manhattan.
to me, i feel that there should be more active duty officers who can get into there bombers, and counterattack these gunboats, for they are a menace to liberty officers, traders and civilians.
So, I'm requesting to join SWAT, and help combat the Rogues in the best way possible: Fully armed bombs, and ready to take them down in a fiery blaze.

Report filed by: Officer JD Masket Date: 31/03/818 Subject: Patrol Report, New York
Two Xenos flew by Pueblo station in Colorado, and a miner asked for an escort to New York
I then ran a patrol of New York's lanes and came across a lane hacker gunboat. He was instructed to surrender and be escorted to sugarland, and he complied.
Along the way however he evidently had a heart attack and dropped dead at the controls, causing his ship spiral out of control. A LN and LSF officer came to help me stop the runaway vessel but we were unable to bring it to a complete stop before it crashed into a large asteroid on the edge of the badlands.
Shortly after I was ambushed by an evil diabolical rhino and was forced to retreat.

well, after i got the news of being accepted into SWAT, i hightailed it to Illinois to get refitted, and properly tagged.
after i get my ship and equipment all loaded up, i made a patrol of New York, when i noticed a Rogue near Ft.Bush, so i told him to Halt. He told me and a couple of other Officers that he was looking for Xenos, who attacked his base. we told him to peacefully leave the area, under escort by me and LNS-Vancouver.
After he left in peace, we got reports of pirates in Texas, so me, and two LNS Gunboats formed up with me, as we jumped to Texas. When we entered Texas, we met up with a fellow SWAT officer who stopped a trader heading to Hudson carrying super conductors. we turned him back, but Officer Masket had a suspicion, so he ordered me to keep a look out over by the Hudson JG, and he, the Bering JG.
After a little bit of waiting, we finally caught the trader again, sneaking by us. I requested Masket to get over here to help me assist. and when the Trader got caught, he had the nerve to drop the cargo immediately to avoid any trouble. i managed to tractor in some of the cargo as evidence.
After a bit of failed attempts to order him to Sugarland, he opened fire on me, and i got the orders to fire back. so i weakened his shields, then hit him with my brand new SNAC.
Afterwords, we headed back to Houston, when we got word that a Ion storm was heading towards Sirius. so i made a quick trip to Sugarland to drop off some Xeno pilots, and then back to Houston to drop off the evidence, and file my report.
Here are Guncam shots of the evidence, and here is the basic low down on what happened with the trader.
Not bad for a rookie SWAT member eh?
Jean: I must confess, as infuriating and arrogant as Gambit can be, those eyes, that grin, that body, it takes a girl's breath away. Cyclops: Oh, really? When next the opportunity presents itself, remind me to drop a truck on him. Xavier: Cyclops. Cyclops: A big truck. Xavier: Cyclops! Cyclops: A really big truck. Xavier: CYCLOPS!

Ah, first patrol of the season. Even tough I am not officialy back in service, no harm done by getting some work done, eh? I dug up a less then useless Patriot, with a mediocre load-out and went on to patrol New York. I got reports of a battle near Norfolk, I went there as fast as possible and made rookie mistake number 1. I forgot to put the lid on my coffee before joining the fight. All I did was distract the ships so the freelancers already attacking, could get a better shot. Hostiles, by my count were 2 Rogue Heavy Fighters, and a Gunboat.
Summary:
My ship, acting as cannon fodder, took a few hits, and didn't log any information about the pirate fighters. The Gunboat and 2 Fighters were neutralized by friendlies. I scored no kills.
Now, can I turn this hunk-o-junk in for a Liberator?

The Leavenworth responded to reports of a Rheinland Battleship in New York. The LNS Durango also responded, and chased the Rheinlander to Alaska along with the LNS Pegasus. However, due to technical malfunctions the Rheinlander managed to gain the upper-hand and strike a critical blow to the Durango. The Pegasus called us to assist in finishing the idiot off, and the Leavenworth entered Zone 21 and Alaska to engage the battleship.
The beast was near one of the Navy's prison stations and charged us head on, so our power core barely had time to recharge and fire one mortar before he was in range and firing despite us stopping four klicks out. However, the Durango had dealt some serious blows before we arrived and our gunners made short work of finishing the job.
