So basically, google is of no help and I thought I should ask disco community for help.
So, Skype lagg.
When people post messages in group channel I get those messages some time later, and when I want to post something, it take some time before it's delivered(for some time it has that icon on the right of message saying "not delivered yet"), I also have that problem with 1 on 1 chat.
I tried deleting that Skype folder in appdata, but it didnt help.
I usually relog Skype, but even that doesn't help, so it only remains to wait until it un-laggs.
I have proved that shouting "WHY AM I GETTING MESSAGES 4 HOURS OLD!" in LN Emergency chat doesn't work, and that was all I could think of so ...
I do know is it can be in sending and recieveing, I have sent messages before and it been stuck with the "loading" icon at the side forever. I've also had it where a certain persons messages all suddenly appear and a previously one sided conversation suddenly has contex. So presumeably its a connection issue.
Whose connection issue? Mine?
But, I play games, browse, etc without any problem.
Only this shitty program is making problems.
And their stuff must be worst of any out there. Not single solution they made on their home site. *sigh*
This might seem a bit old - but try re-installing it ? It might work, and you have nothing to lose but a few minutes. Just make sure to remember your username and pass, or else you'll end up like i did..
Its connection issues both sides. Like I said in my post, sometimes messages you type will refuse to send, and sometimes an entire conversation can take place, and when you check back later suddenly someone elses messages appear that none of the people having the conversation ever noticed.
If, after you type a message and hit enter, a little loading icon appears and never seems to go, then that message has still not been sent. Seeing peoples messages that have been sent but you've not recieved yet ... first thing you'll know about it is 1+ hours later when they finnaly load.
As for whose connection issues it is, I can only assume its just Skype being crap. I've sent messages on skype and had it refuse to send. Then sent the same message to the same person over either Steam or X-Fire and had them imediatly respond to it, only to tell me 4 hours later "yeh, that message finnaly showed up". And to think, they were going to charge us to use Skype at all at one point, yet other free software is easier to use, more reliable, and in some cases like Steam and X-Fire, even has more features.
Sorry, had to say it before some other smart-mouth said it.
Seriously though, I don't think there's really any fix. It's more of an internet/connection related problem than software problem, so the only real way to minimize it is make sure you have a good internet connection, and even then, Skype servers will go offline and cause it from time to time.

So yeah, Skype actually has no chat servers as it's p2p protocol - and messages circulate between users until it's delivered to everyone - which means that's not connection or PC problem, it's protocol one.

By design Skype is not suitable for conversations within channels. As people pointed out it's a peer-to-peer desing wihtout a server in the middle. In fact the skype-servers are only used to set up the peer-to-peer connection e.g. when adding a new buddy or starting a call.
This - of course- drastically reduces the server-load for microsoft and thus keeps the costs down.
As for the usual problems: deal with them. Despide many good tips and hints (such as adding as many friends as possible on a channel) this problem keeps occuring. However, I found out that certain clients (aka specific devices) do create a problem, probably due to long (some 10 minutes) intervals between syncing with others. This might be due to issues not related to skype itself.
It's a problem with all chats, even the quiet ones. Messages won't be delivered to you until a particular person (how p2p works is a mystery sometimes) signs in. It's a pain but there's nothing you can do until we all find a better solution.
