Im Curious, where will everyone go from disco 2 Star Citizen, will we make a giant Disco Squadron and mess around as a community there or just disperse? Because it's quite so that discovery FL will be over when Star Citizen will come out but thats just my opinion, thoughts?

Yea. diso players will make a one giant community there, the most hated one that is. It'll be known for its elitist attitude, above average English (I'll drag down the average, no doubt about that), and odd RP practices.

To be honest and realistic, it'll most probably live on for a year or so and eventually turn into a ghost town. Disco is so tied to the universe that it'll follow its destiny - slow, cold death as every member drifts away.

Hooking up with Disconians in SC? Nah, I'll pass. Perhaps a few close friends and me, but that's it.

I need to concur with Sokol here. I have already pledged for SC and can't await for alpha&beta to come out and since it's created from the founder of Freelancer, the game will most likely have me hooked for years, just like FL did. Disco lacks kinda the flexibility to just 'move' into a new universe, however I would of course appreciate a Disco community coming up in SC.

Star Citizen has promised to bring proper joystick support and a fixed crosshair. Aside from all the other cool stuff.

I'm not sure yet. A lot depends on how fun Star Citizen proves to be, and how moddable. MMOGs tend to have drawbacks, and generally, the bigger the community, the less polite you can expect to be treated. I've not pledged but will probably check the game out. Could the Discovery mod move over there? Unsure. Lot of variables.

What'll happen?

The game will come out, that's what.

Too much time and effort has been put into Discovery Freelancer for it to just simply die because a new game engine appears.

Retired, permanently.

How can you expect it not to die? FL has been around for 10 years already! When SC comes out it may be in its teens. Yes, there are games that lived longer than that, but I wouldn't count on it.

For me nothing will change. Pretty much all newer games cant compete with games made years ago. Fancy graphics cant make up for a good story or gameplay.
