Use the /restart miner command and you'll get a Surveyor with a mining ID. You could either keep that, or get say a DSE ID and IFF for the extra yield. Then head off to humbolt or Alberta and you'll be able to fill up any transports that request ore and make a lot of money quickly. Then you'll be able to buy a bigger transport yourself in no time, or progress and get a better mining ship eg Hegemon.
After your money issues are sorted I'd recommend a Sabre. If you wanted a bomber, out of the two you've listed, I quite like the Havoc or you could maybe look into getting a Roc bomber.
Well I already have 5 mil so i was thinking of getting an Armored Transport and mining helium at Erie abit more until I get some more creds and find better mining spots.

Sure, no reason why not. However you'll need to keep in mind that it'll take quite a while to fill up your ship. Armoured transport (just like rhino) isn't a proper mining ship so you don't get any mining bonuses. Using the rhino is good for newbies as is still relatively easy, but solo mining in a large transport will be extremely cumbersome. As you move up the ladder, you'll be wanting either those with proper mining loadouts, to fill you up, or becoming a miner yourself.
There is much better money out there than Helium mining as you'll discover. But as long as you have a relatively enjoyable way of making cash yourself, then who can complain.
Alright, a lot of people say get transports. Yes, that's a good place to start but if you're like me and feel like trading is a drag there are others ways.
Pirating - good fun but you need another person do it with really
Finding and selling codename weapons - (a lot more difficult due to competition and others knowledge of where they are)
Forum work - Sigs, trans bars etc
Mission grinding - there are places that make this possible, though a bit dull
Mining - you've mentioned doing this, very profitable but ties in with trading. Looks like you've decided though so i'll stop now.
Shipwise, as I play an Outcast a lot, i'd say Sabre. Very nice ship, easy to handle.
Anaximander gave the best advice i think - get a freelancer Id ed transport and trade all around sirius- that way you can find out a little of who else is out there without too much of a hassle.
If i remember correctly the ladder is like this:
Camara freighter -> Gull civvie Transport ->Mammoth-> Border Worlds Transport/Firefly
The advantage of the "ladder" is that you get new ships that speed up your grinding for cash considerably.
If you look at your budget right now you could buy the Camara and a fighter - of course not with top notch equipment yet, but still...
When it comes to fighters, i think the Eagle and the Sabre are he way to go, there is a good reason why every one uses them. If you decide to join a more specialized faction you can always look for alternatives, but with those 2 you can't do anything wrong.
Last but not least: get out of liberty if you didn't already do so- when i started out i was very surprised about how friendly people suddenly are if you leave that place
I already decided to go with mining. Transfered all my creds and reset with a miner got full rep and an ID from DSE and I almost have enough creds for a Hegemon.
I guess mining and trading are the only sure ways of making money, ill stick to them until i get a good sum of creds.
Remember, you should take the freelancer I'd and use, ask people who need deliveries. If wish to do some money, be sure to drop me a note, I pay 10 mill for five minutes ( trading ).
If mining is your cup of tea, it is sure one of the better ways to make that money! Depending on how much cash you actually need i would suggest settign up a completly differnt char, too- be it militar/police or pirate affiliated jsut to see what disco has to offer.
For a fully equipped pirate fighter you need about 22 milion Credits - and looking how i used my ships in the last ~2 years those were the 22 milions that brought me the most fun( and in the long run the most money, too).
Have fun- and of course if you ever have any interest in Corsairs....seek no further, just ask
You need a moneymaking transport.
Get a Freelancer-IDed Firefly that can go everywhere, scout everything, has few enemies.
Do not get a BWT (it makes you ragequit bc it cannot dock properly).
With a money maker (trader), you can buy unlimited numbers of other ships very fast.
If you want to go into serious money-making, you need miners, transports and access to player bases. Hang out in T23 and O7 and rp with people and you'll get there.

Which one would you choose and why, and if theres anything else that would fit a newbie better that also uses the freelancer ID all suggestions would be appreciated. I basically want a reliable ship that would allow me to do general fighting, escorts and would still be able to stand a chance against bigger ships.
Edit: Actually i dont know if this is even the right forum? Didnt see anything else where such a question might me appropriate. If its not I apologize and please move the thread to the appropriate place.
Dear me, you listed some bad ships there to choose from as fighters. About the only one worth considering is the Sabre from that bunch, but there are some other decent ones you could fly not listed. Eagle isn't bad for a VHF instead of Sabre, neither is the Falcon, Marauder and Bayonet if you want something a little lighter to fly. Bayonet is pretty good to use!

Im currently doing 1 mil per run(from Erie to Honshu). Already have 5 mil so i thought i was ready for something else but trading. I guess ill get a transport ship for general credit making, but ill still need a new ship later, so my question still stands.
That made me laugh, you make earning 1m a run sound like a big deal because you're new yet. You make 40 - 50m a run selling Nio ore in comparison, you can also quite easy make 7m a run dealing with normal NPC commodities using a 3500 trader like Firefly.

Im thinking about getting the eagle then. Honestly for me the look of the ship is almost as important as how good it is. And what would you suggest as a bomber?
