Yo. This is a dedicated thread dedicated to the dedication of the Bass Hunters.
Ask questions, rage, flame and such away.
Just a few things to note:
The group is not an RP group. The group does not exist ingame. None of the ships are related to each other, they do not use tags and other. The group consists of 23 independent players with access to multiple capital ships, dedicated to weed out any and all undernourished bases of Disco.
We beleive that as it was mentioned in the POB introduction, bases are a group effort and are supposed to be heavily influenced by groups. In other words, while you can UPKEEP a base all by yourself, you cannot simply go around the fact that you will not be able to PROTECT the base by yourself. Want a base? Good, get a group.
EDIT: Another thing to add here is that we TRY to do our best to attack only the bases we can attack within reason. In other words, ones which are directly belonging to IDs hostile to the ones we use to attack them. All RP is justified as an attack on an enemy installation.
Another note, dear moderators, please be so nice as NOT to lock the threads, even if flames are about. Let people vent if they want.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Yes, and they may be a troll group, but they've done a service to the community by showing the admins they need to make proper rules for bases.
+1 and that post to the admins was hilarious.
Mods lock this one for dupe thread!
Also if your so keen on killing bases, come Help the Brets take out this one pls.

Right, I agree with what you're doing, but I don't agree that you're very good at discriminating when it comes to filling out you're own targeting category. For instance, you appear to have been hitting all bases as opposed to just some. Lowcore bases with the Rp to be there? Bang. Highcore bases which you think nobody's using? Bang. Somebody's brainchild? Bang.
Result: Server activity drops. This essentially a vigilante group of people who assume they know what's best for the server.
I also question what fun you derive from this. Base raping is not fun, as a general rule. Base owners/factions regard this group like a grim reaper, worried that if they position a basecore anywhere the Base hunters will attempt to use their own Oorp destruction criteria to decide if the base's legitimate, which is effectively trial without jury.
I'm torn between being intrigued by what you do, and I've already PMed one of you guys asking for info on that, and being absolutely horrified and hoping the admins sanction the hell out of you. Can't decide yet.
It's a sad day for disco when Oorp dethrones Rp in this server. Don't be an instrument of that. The very idea of loads of caps (a task force essentially) attacking anything without Rp or any form of preparation breaks the game universe. But, at the same time... some none-suppliable bases do need to go.
I'm not sure. It really depends on how much restraint you show. Plus the fact you write semi-InRp troll messages to the base owners in the Comm channel. Seriously? Should you do that? And that post in the stories thread listing base explosions? Yeah, sure that's a story. Sure, nice interpretation of the server here. What makes it worse is that I, somebody who's been on this server for a way shorter period than you guys, have to pull your socks over it, when most of you have been here for far longer.
Oh and I'm sure as soon as you read this a base associated with one of my chars will explode somewhere. Because Oorp group. *
applies a gun to own head*.
This is a direct challenge to you guys to show the Disco community that you can exercise restraint, because right now I really don't know what to think about you at all, to the point where I've been progressively changing my mind every 5 mins. Uurgh.
So let me narrow it down for you:
To-do list to legitimise the base hunters:
1) Don't hunt InRp bases with InRp existential reasons.
2) Don't post "Haha, look at the reaction on that _____" threads in Comn.
3) Don't make a massive Bass Hunter hall O' fame explosion recording chat.
4) Don't turn TBF into an ingame manifestation.
5) RP before you cap spam. I accept the existance of your group, but the caps used should be Rping from the first shot to the last. If not, there's a forum space reserved exactly for that.
6) Don't be arrogant when you assume people are going to flame you. Trust me, they will (I kinda am now, but I want this to be feedback so you can grow from it).
7) Don't swear, gripe and say stuff like "God, look at those Fu*kers die, there goes all their shi**ing effort in group chat. Accepted, lulzyness will happen when people think no-one can hear you, but at least keep it out of your screens? It breeds Oorp hate because it provides a window into your mentality.
8) Don't start hate wars, and accept anything the admins dish out to you.
9) If you do all of the above, then by all means keep base hunting.

Wow, surely I missed something then. Why did you destroy the ZHR bases with the Corsair caps? The Zoners are hardly hostile to Crete. What was the reason behind it?
Bases that remain unprotected are liable for destruction. Sure its not fair and it upsets people, but being pirated for a 30 min ore mine isn't so different too. Besides, you can always make business with them.

Now guess what their aim is. You almost got it right.
