Its the IMG's old pal Captain Alamo here. Just thought I should be a good chap and warn IMG and Zoner forces of a Corsairs Dreadnought that had been trolling the skies of Tau-37 earlier today.
I received a message requesting help near Freeport 10 from a Zoner friend of mine who had just returned from escorting an ore shipment to Colorado.
At the Tau-23 Jumphole in '37 he was challenged by the ship in question and demanded payment for passage.
He managed to make it to Freeport 10, and I arrived a few minutes later to find him still there camped out at the base waiting.
From there I bade him move along, but he insisted on 'compensation' for wasted fuel while chasing the Zoner and demanded payment from me was well. After refusing his demands I warned him to keep a good distance, but instead he closed in on me.
After a brief scuffle, he was warded off. The reason I report is because I fear this may not be the last we've seen of such Corsairs ships, by whoever had financed the ROUGHNECK, in this area. I am hoping this does not constitute some new rogue Corsairs threat. I seek not bounty or compensation, only to warn friendlies on their way through an already dangerous area.

Greetings, Captain,
I find this report disturbing. I have seen a slight increase of Corsairs in the Tau region. Recently, two visited Freeport 6 but were pleasant so this is concerning.
With a ship the size that you reported, it is difficult to to repel a ship that size, that has no regard for Zoners. It sounds as if he has decided not to use Zoner facilities.
My people run patrols up to Freeport 10 as per an agreement with Administrator Leroux so we will keep an eye out.

Bonsoir. My name is Robert d'Autoine, Head Councilor of the Commonwealth and I hereby want to extend you our gratitude for sharing such information with us.
The Commonwealth currently operates from Freeport 10 and the presence of a corsair vessel with a captain of... let's say of such a caliber, could prove detrimental, to say the least.
At least we now know to have this callsign avoided at all costs. Merci beaucoup.
On a sidenote, may you be so kind as to share with us the name of the zoners which took part in this unfortunate incident? I would like to have a personal talk with them and hear more details of this story, if you may.
Nothing special, but I would like to inquire their Modus Operandi, especially in such circumstances. If I were them, I would have paid the corsair the price he initially asked instead of complicating the situation and, out of coincidence, unsuspectingly baiting the corsair vessel to Freeport 10.
I am simply worried, as this choice of actions, could have easily endangered the Freeport 10 and all lives on it, including mine and the Commonwealth's, if the Corsair captain ever decided to shoot the station out of spite that the zoner managed to dock on it. But then I do agree that that zoner had his life, and his crew's on the stake, especially considering that he chose not to pay the passage toll.
Still, I cannot condemn you for anything. Your decision of sharing this information with us, in order to prevent any detrimental circumstances in the future is worthy of praise. Merci beaucoup pour ton intention, monsieur.
Au revoir for now!

Nice to hear from you again, and to see you're still around doing your thing. We're obviously no fans of the Corsairs, particularly their capital ships; regardless if they are sitting around anywhere near their home or coming to visit us all the way in the Taus. Wherever we see them, and anyone else threatening our homes or neighbours, you can be sure the Defence Wing will be out to meet them.
I'll keep my Moray's scanners on the lookout for ROUGHNECK, not that it'd be hard to miss him out here.
The Zoner ship is a gunboat called the 'Arcturus' flown by a captain who calls himself Antares. I spoke to him a bit afterwards on what happened before I arrived, which left me with the impression that the captain of the dreadnought gave him little communication at all other than to halt. I have flown with him in the past on several occasions and he has my full confidence. I'm not sure how much was demanded, and it is unfortunate that the station had to bear some of the threat, but I believe he was likely doing what he had to to survive. Hopefully this will not be a recurring incident. However, the Daedalus will be ready if any such ships show themselves again.
