Mr Klugmann, this is Lena Atzenbruck. I do hope this message finds you well.
I'm generally not one to needlessly beat around the bush, so I'll get right to it.
Consider this a request to re-open negotiations between ALG and the Vereinigte Widerstandsarmee.
I don't know exactly what you had arranged, or planned to arrange with Nelly so I'll just leave it at that. I'm sure we can reach some sort of mutually beneficial agreement.
This message was sent from a maximum security channel, it cannot be traced to us or to you, so worry not, everything sent here will between the two of us only.
My talks with Sachs had not reached anything concrete or conclusive in the way of an agreement; at present there are no official diplomatic tenets between the ALG and VWA save a preference to avoid harming ALG assets when given the option.
There is little that the Widerstand could do to aid ALG in a materialistic fashion that your corporation does not already have access to. I do, however, have a few offers from our end in mind;
In exchange for a negotiable monthly credit transfer from ALG to the VWA, you would be aiding the Bundschuh organization in a multitiude of ways; with a steady income of credits, it would reduce our reliance upon needing to stop Lane traffic to request donations. The credits would aid us in supplying our existing operations, (hopefully) upgrading our antiquated supply of snubcraft, and allowing us to help repatriated political prisoners from Omega-11 and elsewhere to return to their lives (or find new ones).
From "our side", the VWA would of course leave ALG operations (so long as they were not clearly of detriment to the Bundschuh at large, or not directly of aid to the Rheinswehr) completely alone. In addition, whilst we do not have the ability to "direct" the actions of other Rheinlandic Revolutionary factions, I would attempt to dissuade the Hessians and Landwirtrechtbewegung from hassling your convoys if at all possible.
You will note that I did not include the Unioners in that group; they have turned their backs on attempting to better Rheinland altogether. Whilst the Bundschuh, Hessians, and LWB seek to keep chaos and bloodshed to a minimum if they can, the Unioners revel in it. Needless to say, VWA dispatches would attempt, indirectly, to curb attacks upon ALG assets.
These are rough terms. If you can think of something you would like to add, I am all ears.
Mr Klugmann, I've been reviewing your message and have prepared a response.
Please note that this is a personal position and does not necessarily reflect ALG company policy. Needless to say, nobody else knows about this.
I certainly share certain concerns about the state of affairs in Rheinland with the Bundschuh party.
Specifically, these include the veneration of the Kanzler in a quasi-religious fashion, the influence of the Military and MND on policy, and of course the main reason for your existence - the lack of notable changes in regards to workers' rights in many sectors since the Popular Revolt.
I support your desire to change this, and I find the lack of political freedom, which nobody can deny, very worrying.
However....what I do not support is attacks on civilians who for the most part are victims, rather than perpetrators of this situation.
So while I am not averse to supporting your political arm, I'm hesitant to directly support your militant wing.
I would offer to lobby the government on your behalf, but I'm afraid although ALG is enjoying unprecedented business, our leverage is fairly limited.
If there is something specific on a diplomatic level you think we could help with, I will see what I can do.
Likewise, if there are specific, non-military goods you require, we may be able to arrange something.
All that having been said, I'm willing to negotiate a monthly credit transfer.
I just want to emphasize that this shouldn't be seen as a mere bribe, but as support for the political aim of your struggle, although of course I cannot control how exactly you spend it. I'll have you make a suggestion for specifics.
As for the second part, of course we greatly appreciate this offer of "peace", so to speak, as well as the offer to lobby other revolutionary groups.
We don't have a general problem with the Red Hessians - apart from individuals that have taken to indiscriminate piracy - and I believe Nelly was involved in negotiations with the LWB as well.
Sadly, my experience with the Unioners confirms what you said, they are nothing more than pirates now. We have no intention to deal with them.
I hope that covers everything for now. I await your response.
Admittedly, the Widerstand no longer desires to have excessive lobbying within the Bundestag in our favor; nearly the entire institution is corrupt and it must be completely rebuilt from the ground up. We have been quietly gathering information upon many of the corrupt practices that its representatives have been making since the end of the Nomad War; many of which were of direct detriment to Rheinland's working people.
I humbly thank you for at least having an ear for History; the Bundschuh quite literally created the Federal Republic. But as this monster has spiraled out of control, we have taken it upon ourselves to tame it and unmake it, just as we had created it.
About the proposal of a monthly transfer of credits; I believe that twenty to twenty-five million per month would be very reasonable; I hope that does not prove prohibitive or unfair to you. The vast majority of our credits serve to maintain what assets we have, whether they be our ships and patrols, or our abolitionary efforts at a location I cannot disclose.
I also offer the opportunity to aid us in another small way; should you come across any of our wayward pilots in space, I would ask you take their lifepods not to Vierlande or a Federal Republic authority, but to Yanagi Depot, Sigma-13. In compensation we will match or exceed whatever price an authority might offer you for our men and women.
Mr Klugmann, I will keep this concise.
I find your terms agreeable and will wire the requested amount over as soon as you provide the relevant account information.
I do hope this money will be spent wisely and that the people of Rheinland may, in some small way, get some positive results out of it.
If there is something interesting that you get out of it, and you're willing to share the information, of course I would be interested in hearing about it.
I suppose it is unlikely that we would ever pick up one of your pilots, but if we do, I'll be sure to sure to bring them to Yanagi (or Kreuzberg if that is alright with you).
Indeed, Yanagi seems an appropriate place to meet if this is ever necessary.
I'll just leave it at that for now.
I also agree with these terms. We will of course attempt to provide whatever "damning evidence" of the Federal Republic's present state that we may find.
Wire the monthly credits to VWA|Kasse; any value between twenty and twenty-five million will do.
Thank you for your understanding, President. If there are any cases of the Widerstand breaking these terms, please bring them to my attention promptly.
- Transmission End -
Very well then. I do hope something....interesting will come of this; we shall see.
The first installment of credits has been transferred from the bank.
I will inform my employees of our agreement (though obviously not of the details) and bring it to your attention if it is violated.
As you by now must know, Munich has been devastated by a catastrophe of cataclysmic proportions. The Widerstand's forces in the area took a large number of casualties... And we can only fervently hope that the civilian populace of Nuremberg did not suffer similarly.
In the chaos of this terrible tragedy, the Widerstand has turned to caution and careful observation. We offer our sincere condolences to any employees or relatives of employees who have been harmed in wake of it all. To that end, the Widerstand promises not to interfere with the cleanup efforts taken over from Sigma-13.
I promise on Claus Botzler's honor that I and the Widerstand will do whatever we can to aid in healing from this cancerous tragedy.
Mr Klugmann, thank you kindly for your reassurances in these messy times.
All of Rheinland is reeling from the Munich incident; we are trying to come to terms with it and carry on the necessary work.
Moving cleanup operations from Sigma-13 to Munich and the wrecked jump gate sites in Bering and Hudson is in no way complete and it will likely be some time until we are working at full capacity.
Anyways, I'm glad that we still have an agreement. In these times, cooperation is what this troubled house needs most.
