now, this is just a concept - a brief idea i had...
the marsflyer is one of the ships that don t fit into freelancer or discovery at all. - but its still not a useless shipslot. - an order SHF - so i thought about how to make it at least fit in. - currently, it is a highly unpopular design - especially cause no one knows how to RP it well...
now, the idea is a "trapped" nomad fighter caged in an exoskeleton. - this "ship" uses the fighters engines and interenals aswell as its reactor - but instead of the light nomad fighter that is hard to believe to have a human pilot... this one has a fully human cockpit attached. - the idea is to keep the extremely high powercore of the marsflyer - but give the idea of it a bit more reason to be an order ship.
oh... its of course still untextured, i just "dyed" the nomad fighter in that concept - so its easier to recognize.
this is not an actual ship - and far from anything i would consider to submit - its only an idea so far. ( its not like the order would need a SHF anyway - it is sort of completely against the orders idea of a ship to build something slow and heavily armed that cannot dodge well ) - oh, and the marsflyer doesn t even have a torpedo.....
of course i have no idea how to make them - haha. if everything fails, i ll just put lead plates over the nomad ship and pretend its enclosed in metal:laugh:
what i can do is model a "skeleton" inside - and try to make the skin transparent ( once i figired that out ) - the good thing is... the marsflyer comes with no engine graphic, but instead with a neat engine blow - i would place the glow at strategic points inside... the problem is... the glow is green and not blue / white.
I like! Though it would kinda be tricky getting it to work with the Order, would be kinda weird with everyone in the Order flying a Nomad adapted ship, even though the RP out of it would be pretty cool.

sweet, that d be cool - as long as its really "only" the texture. - cause there won t be much freedom with the ini and all. - when its a replace, it ll be identical to the marsflyer. but in terms of that - it cannot be worse than the flying pencake ... i think even a box without texture would be better for RP sake.
hm, didnt find much on it. Only thing I found on was glowing texture (for ship lights, not too revelant) and the fact nomad textures are not MAT but TXL files...
