*Stew appeared with his usual friendly smile impeded with a twinge of annoyed worry.*
Trainee Peter Cullen. I hope you have checked Bowex's personnel files and you know I am a senior supervisor here cause I well and truly know who you are.
*Stew smiled a touch to push some of his annoyance and worry aside.*
Now it has quickly been made apparent to me that you have made a bold move belying your position as a trainee in our great firm. Now whether you checked the publicly available personnel files first or not I'm not fussed; but it's the fact you requested full private files on Kiriko our ExSec Director, and requested they be sent without her knowledge, that worries me personally as her father and professionally as a fellow manager.
*Stew briefly clears his throat as he glances at the report in his hand before dropping further into an authoritative tone.*
So Peter before you leave Scarborough Station I would like you to come and explain to me personally why you need the full private reports and if I feel you've explained yourself sufficiently I'll show you her file myself.
*Stew smiled and nodded a farewell nod and the transmission faded out.*
Incoming transmission from: Peter Cullen, Trainee
Encyption: Bretonia-internal-9575a.
Priority: High.
RE: Subject: An urgent meeting.
*Peter Cullen, formal and as composed as possible, activated the message recorder.*
"Sir, I can understand your... confusion at my request, but I assure you, my intent is purely that of professional assistance. You see, while on duty, parts of Director Kiriko's, er, situation were revealed to me, by herself and her... well, automated assistant. Of particular note to me was the presence of a certain medical condition, of what I gauged to be a fairly severe nature, which... concerned me, as a co-worker and fellow human being. You see, I have a limited experience with medical aid in similar dire circumstances, and have certain, umm, contacts with experience in the fields of medicine. I assumed that medical information would fall under the private files on the company's database, as per our privacy policy, and desired access to such information, as well as any details regarding the Director's personal history which might explain... certain things, er, said condition... My desire is to assist my co-workers in anyway possible."
*Peter paused for a moment, relaxing*
"As I said, my intentions are purely professional and humanitarian. And I understand your concern, I really do. It's fatherly, and... admirable, and I want to help. We can talk more about such things in person. End message."
*The recorder shut down just as Peter exhaled sharply. He hadn't hoped to attract any attention with his little information request. He could still remember the visible concern emanating from Director Wolfe's eyes. He couldn't help but wonder if he was getting into something deeper than he expected. Still, meeting Kiriko in person had raised so many questions. He remembered seeing no definitive age on the personnel reports, and she looked so young, Peter couldn't help but be confused. What's more, she had access to an AI system which Peter suspected to be far more sophisticated than she let on, perhaps more than she even knew, the likes of which he had only heard of in whispers floating in from the edge worlds. Peter had a feeling floating around his stomach. Sometimes he called it a warning from God, other times he called it primal intuition. But he knew he had to fine out more.*
*Peter turned away from the comm screen, muttering to himself.*
*Stew appeared with his usual friendly smile covering the caution still existent within.*
Peter. It appears you have some knowledge of the conditions, restrictions and supports Kiriko flies and lives with. Plus you seem to be coming to me with a honest attempt to help.
*Stew smiled a touch.*
Now while you've gone back to King's Cross I do hold it highly that you worked to reply as soon as possible. But if your desire to help is honest you won't have a problem repeating your confirmations and requests to me face to face.
*Stew checks the managerial plans for assignments of the
BES Aethelred of the next week*
So Peter like I said before when you make it to Scarborough come and see me and we'll go over the details personally since in no way will I be revealing this over a transmission.
*Stew smiled and nodded a farewell nod and the transmission faded out.*
