When I export Bretonian Battleship into .3ds and render it, the ship is not colored, it is mostly grey. All the texturing is done properly. Same thing is happening with the mining ship. Is there anyone out there, who could explain me the root of this problem?

Kazi, so the milkshape pulls incorrect textures? I do have yellow in the render, but red is missing. And why all other models render fine, but those 2 don't? Milkshape sees color fine, but after exporting into 3ds the red color is gone.

what is it your trying to do, as i found a way to render ships in my 3d render prog (vue d'esprit)
in milkshape i 1st import the ships
then export as obj which creates 2 files, the obj and a txt file which tells the obj what texture files to use
i edit the txt file to make the textures "point" towards the same file name , but in png format , not dds (i had previoulsy converted all dds files to png)
then save that txt file........yes this is a little complicated....
oh hell, im gonna have to do this tomorrow, ill post explaining it all then
Here is what i got after i imported Bret BS into Milkshape , converted .dds files into .png ( i usually use .tga) and substituted them into the model. Then I exported the model as .3ds file and rendered in Bryce3d. (This program does fine job rendering stuff)
As you can see, red color is missing from the ship render. For some reason yellow color rendered fine. I don't understand why Milkshape does not export colors as we see on the model.
So, I checked out the color saturation in milkshake, and found out it is 200 125 125 ( there are two tones used, but i remember this one from the top of my head). Then I opened up the .png texture and colored it into the above color and saved it as a different name. Then I substituted red parts with the new red texture I just made. Here is what I got:
I find the above process quiet anal. I wonder if there are some setting option (like a check box) that I am missing. Perhaps I need to do something to Milkshape's settings in order for the program to export correctly colored models.
The same thing is happening to Hegemon Mining Ship, it comes out to be completely grey.
Please help me to understand this problem.
Thank you in advance.
