A formation of Wyrm light fighters flew by the window that a young Tamotsu Miyazaki was standing on tippy toes to look out of. His parents had saved for years to afford this vacation from their home of Kyushu. Currently they were in an armored transport in the Honshu system, heading for the Hawaii.
Try as he might though, seven year-old Tam, as his parents called him, couldnt work up any excitement for their destination it was all used up for where they were right now: space. The beauty of the Wyrm fighters was accentuated as they homed in on some Blood Dragons, entering a graceful dance of death and blasters, showing the devastating glory of generations of Kusarian martial arts.
Holstering his service-issue handgun and grabbing his badge, Tam got up from his desk and ran for the launch bay of Akita Border Station. Row on row of Kusari State Police Wyrms lay dormant, like great slumbering dragons of legend, with a fire in their bowels. A fire ready to be unleashed.
Move it Miyazaki!
The yell of his sergeant snapped Tam out of his admiration. He scanned the rows of identical ships with his eyes, searching for his. The sergeant, quickly losing patience, pushed Tam in the right direction and yelled, Get moving!
Ah, now I see it Tam thought, inwardly rolling his eyes.
Once in the ship, he almost donned his helmet. Luckily, he saw the rice cakes his dear old mother had made with love and had sent to him. He savored a bite, but saved the rest for later. The sergeant was ready to blow.
Time to hit the beat he though, sighing. It wasnt nearly as easy as his boyhood fantasies had made it out to be, but he had a job to do.
Tamotsu's Sergeant was sick of him. He was a slacker, disorganized, he had no focus or drive, he was scared of pirates for crying out loud! He wanted to get rid of him, but they were short as it was so he couldn't without good reason (like him committing a crime). So, when the Naval recruitment officer came by and asked for a few pilots to bolster the front lines of the Bretonia-Kusari war, he jumped at the chance to recommend Tamotsu Miyazaki. Not knowing what was happening, he was practically gang-pressed into the Naval Forces, given a Chimera, and told to go to Tau 31 for his assignment.
Tamotsu had no idea what was going on, but he was hoping for a pay increase.
