So if you're a Corsair, you know the deal with Passengers going to Crete.
Corsairs roleplay them as contraband, etc etc.
Should Sirius get the message and no longer try to bring them there? (As in, Crete no longer purchases Passengers for a profit).
Would the Corsairs prefer to eliminate the chance for contraband into their space at all?
Would something else be preferred over Passengers? I'm wondering about Synth Marijuana. Marijuana increases appetite, which would be a VERY bad thing during a famine and food shortages.
There are possibilities for change, so Corsairs...let me know.

I dont play a corsair but I have a comment to make here...
Can we get the price of food rations and luxury food raised drastically on crete? They're supposed to be starving, they'd probably pay anything for some extra food. Right now, food to crete is a nice RP route for dealing with corsairs, but it doesnt make enough profit for anyone to really be interested in doing it.
Another somewhat related comment... how about we increase the price of spaceship crew on Toledo in Omiron Minor? The Order needs more pilots, and 'selling' their pilots would be something they arent likely to do considering how small the organization is. So, passenger liners bringing new recruits to toledo would be payed top dollar.

Yes, it's nonsensical. The only possible reason for the high prices on passengers/VIPs is... consumption. There is no logical reason why people want to go there. It's not even a desirable place to be.

Hey Xoria
One of the main issues with "contraband" as Corsairs see it is that they are not allowed to police it the same way lawfuls are i.e. Engage contraband carrying trades with their capships.
This rule is widely seen as a double standard and there is widespread community support for the rule in question to be changed to allow unlawful forces the same "policing" rights as lawfuls within their own space.
ON the issue of contraband itself - changing what is considered contraband wouldn't address the key issue of enforcement. Synth Marijuana is an interesting one as im pretty sure the OPG have a liking for it... though they base out of cadiz, one system from Cambridge where perhaps the food situation isn't so dire.
Cheers
Edit: Completely agree with raising the price of food on Crete.
Well yea it's a bit silly that passengers are paying enormous amounts of money to go to Crete >.>
but it does give us something interesting to police about.
As for the pot, yes OPG regularly extort traders into bringing shipments of pot to Cadiz for 'protection'.
Not sure what should be done about the contraband issue, the passenger thing is silly, but it does work. Traders trying to make a quick buck, Corsairs yelling at him about the famine, fines/apologies etc.
It's good fun.
Personally I don't see a reason to change it.
Hell if anything, raise the price even more, gives us even more to do >.>
If I were looking for a commodity that the Corsairs might be offended by other than Passengers, it would be Luxury Food. Wait I know what you are thinking "Thats Blasphemy, why would the Corsairs turn away food? Well consider the cost of luxury food, with the amount you spend feeding one person Luxury Food, you could feed 15 or 20 on rations, and probably 30 or 40 on synthpaste. What Corsair in their right mind would chose to buy extravagant luxury food when they could feed so many more people with food rations of SynthPaste. ( Am I, of all people really writing that the Corsairs should want SynthPaste over Luxury Foods? I must be coming down with something:P)
As far as I've been able to tell, the Corsairs haven't eaten anyone since the early days after their landing on Crete, and even then it was their own people who willingly (supposedly) sacrificed themselves for the greater good.
People seem to think that the Corsairs are something like the Reavers from Firefly... I've never played a Corsair, and I consider them pretty much a bunch of thugs, but seriously... They aren't a bunch of cannibalistic headhunters who raid to haul people back home to eat. They raid for loot and for actual food. Otherwise it's doubtful that the Order or even Hogosha would be on very friendly terms with them.
Back on subject... Even though I've never played a Corsair, I think that passengers being shipped to Crete for high prices is pretty silly. Food/Lux Food makes much more sense. Though, maybe Lux Food might not sell for any more than regular food. It's all just sustenance for the Corsairs.
