So now that I've got 3ds max again I'm going to start making more models...

First order was the arrow mk2, it has it's own thread. This next one is an Order Cruiser-Class cap.

I'm making it a 'catamaran' design, with two side pods and a center 'bridge' area - the two side pods are based roughly on the design Turkish used for his Order Gunboat.

Ok, I've gotten the center design done... I went a little radical with a 'curved wing' catamaran... Looks more like a new-age ship, which couldnt hurt...

I changed the name from a Cruiser to a Destroyer. Right now the model has 8 'hardpoints' (just little pyramid things representing hardpoints) for turrets, and ideally would have almost as much manuverability as a gunboat, but fairly low armor for a cruiser/destroyer, and only 8 turrets - compared to current destroyers like the zoner dessie which has 9.

It reminds me of my Gunboat, I very much approve.

I would suggest a central Osiris type hull that has evident structure holds, beam type objects maybe?

You could go with a...oh i just forgot what they're called.

The little racer things from star wars.

You know what i mean right? Two side engine things which are attached, by beam or cable, to the central control seat.

What i mean is, make the central part in the back, not stick out the back past the "pontoons", but definitely shorter and set towards the back.

Or maybe reverse it so the center is in the front?

I dunno, an Order podracer...Doesn't quite fly as a cruiser....

It's on both the osiris and the new carrier jinx is designing. The section just underneath the 'cap' is supposed to have windows around it, I think the one on the osiris is either a command center or some kind of observation deck.

I would put the arms a teensy closer togather and let the 2 arms merge into one at the front rather than stay divided. Like that, it seems to project an ora it as a destroyer is not supposed to have.

hm... I cant join them at the front without completely remodelling them, or having it look really weird.

And what do you mean by 'giving it an "aura" a destroyer isnt supposed to have'? Destroyers are supposed to look mean and aggressive, they're built for combat, I think this conveys that fairly well.
