I'm gonna do a brief re-cap of my previous story involving the nadesico, I was gonna do a link to it but it seems to have vanished ...
As the TG has disappeared it's back to being invite only.
****IC****
history of the nadesico:
First appeared as Privately Developed nadesico (PD nadesico), a huegenot cruiser with two cruiser forward guns.
After a furious battle with three nomad battleship patrols it was scrapped and rebuilt using anicent plans found on planet gammu for a rhienland cruiser, it used nomad weapons technology and continued fighting the nomads in the unknown system.
During a recon of omicron delta the ship was crippled and forced to flee through an unstable jumphole that appears to have collapsed during it's jump. It was discovered several months later floating dead and crewless in tau 23.
Once the repairs were completed, it was renamed {TG}-C-nadesico. The first major engagement by the TG using the nadesico was the assault upon kyushu against the Imperial Guards. Successfully bombarded planet kyushu and destroyed two battleship patrols sent to stop it.
It also particated in the SF's assault upon planet malta, the outcasts home and main cardamine production facility.
It was also present at most of the main engagements against the -=?=- pirate / terrorist group. During the -=?=- attack against new berlin it suffered heavy damage and was eventually decommissioned.
It was decided to use the name {TG}-C-nadesico again to help strengthen the links between the zoners and the TG. The latest nadesico is a restored britonian battleship.
It is now the flagship of the TG second-in-command, Marauder, it was not in any major engagements during the phantom incidents of the time.
Due to the disappearance of the TG the nadesico has returned to being independant and neutral, for now.
;) Wow, cool, nice history of the second TG Flagship :nyam:
I wonder where in space is the old TNC Oradea, the original TG Flagship.....maybe it`s gonna return...some day! :P But then again...maybe not...
Nice story
"Got any jobs you too busy to deal with?" a tall, thin, kusari man asked the falklands head of security.
"Yup, lots of outcast activity around here lately." the security officer was a balding middle-aged man heading rapidly towards being fat due to the long hours spent at the desk sifting through reports made by train escorts and recon patrols. "Take your pick, just remember to sign your name and ship call-sign besides whichever one you take." the officer turned back to his reports.
"Thanks." the man checked to jobs listed and decided on one that was to strike at a new space-station that was being built...
Once he'd left the security officer got up and checked to see what the stranger's name had been.
"Pete Ling, executive officer of the nadesico... Hhmm, why do I recognise that ship..." he turned back to his desk and type the ship name into his computer terminal "Wow, a TG battleship! those outcasts are in for a world of hurt." he chuckled as he got back to his work.
"Confirmed nadesico, your clear to depart mooring point 6." the docking robot said before switching to another channel and yelling at an IMG train that had blundered into the wrong area.
"Thanks falkland." the comm officer, a non-descript rhinelander, turned to Pete Ling.
"we're cleared and ready to go."
"Thank you Hans. Helm? bring us about. Engineering we'll be going slow until we've cleared the asteroid field, so be ready to engage cruise shortly." Ling stood to one side of the command chair, no-one sat in it apart from Marauder and he was off somewhere in his private fighter.
"Aye, we'll be ready." the former molly engineer replied before returning to supervising the stripping down and repairing of weapons and equipment that had been looted from pirates.
The helm officer, a young former DSE transport pilot, didn't reply as she guided the massive ship through the asteroids.
"All turret crews to your stations." Ling continued to issue orders "Gunnery officer, I want that station destroyed before their fighters engage us."
"We'll be firing on it as soon as it's in range." the gunnery officer was a former BMM mining ship captain and was well aware of the devastating firepower under his command and knew where to direct it for best effect.
Marauder groaned, "What a party that was." he staggered upright and headed, via several rebounds off the wall, to the door. It slid open as he finally managed to get to it.
After leaning on the corridor wall outside his room for a few minutes he headed off to find the bar.
"Ok, gimme something to drink." he said to the bartender.
"You look like your still feeling the last round," the bartender replied as he cleaned a glass "And that was five hours ago."
"Well your stuff is good. Now come on, hit me with another one." he insisted.
"You'll kill your self you keep drinking like that." the bartender said as be passed a mug of coffee to marauder.
"Doubt it, my liver is mechanical like, me arm and some other stuff," Marauder sniffed the coffee. "I can't stand coffee, got any hot chocolate?"
"For you? Sure I got hot chocolate, I'll make you one of my specials." the bartender dumped the coffee down the drain where it hissed and gurgled.
"Sounds like you guys use that coffee as hull cleaner." Marauder commented.
"Possible, no-one seems to drink it anyhow. Don't know why I keep the stuff." the bartender put the hot chocolate down in front of Marauder and watched as he managed to get hold of it on the third try.
"This is good," Marauder took another gulp "Really good."
"It's got a drop of cream in it." the bartender said "Irish cream."
"That stuff I was drinking last night? Wow, can I have the receipe?"
"Nope, sorry."
"Never mind, gives me another excuse to come here." marauder said grinning.
"Your cleared to leave nurenburg TG patrol 3." said the docking robot.
"Thank you nurenburg." a giantic britonian at the comm/sensor panel replied as he shut off the channel. "You seem to have pulled it off Dieter."
"Thks Clive," Dieter, a broad shouldered rheinlander, ordered. "We'll head to the sigma 17 jumphole and then to omicron theta Billy."
"k." the tiny libertian at the pilots console answered.
"I really hope the police don't scan us." dieter muttered
"It'll be ok, theres a big unioner attack on ingolstadt station." Clive shifted a control slightly. "They're gonna be busy for hours, the military is headed there to help. We're in the clear as far the the authorites are concerned."
"That leave the pirates then." Billy said as the auto-pilot flew the ship towards the waypoint he'd set.
"Until that ship dealer realises his been had and that we walked off with a virtually stripped gunboat and not the train he thought we were buying." Dieter said gloomly.
"Well this is alot better then the freighter we did have. At least we can give any VHFs a serious problem before we go down." Clive replied.
"Good point, well since we've got an illegal ship we might as well do a decent trade run." Dieter pulled up the nav-map. "Hmm, when we get to sigma 17 we're gonna go see cryer pharmacuticals."
"You mean atka research base." Billy said with a little grin.
"Yup, then we're gonna go to the new freeport we've been hearing about in omicron delta." Dieter smiled too, "Loads of profit on this run."
"TG to me!" roared Marauder, hefting an LPI officer in full riot gear over his head.
The bar was crowded, as usual, but this time it was crowded with the nadesicos crew fighting LPI in riot gear as they tried to fight their way past the other patrons of the bar, who were fighting the LPI in riot gear to get away from the nadesicos crew.
It had started with an LPI officer making a smart remark about 'how liberty didn't need miners' which was not a smart thing to say infront of several hundred former miners, most of whom had lost their jobs in liberty and been forced to move away to find work.
But it hadn't really kicked off until the officer pulled his pistol on Marauder as he was asking for the officer to apologise... then he'd learn, the hard way, why that tactic is not taught in the crowd control lessons at the LPI acadamy.
The police saw it as 'assaulting an officer' they weren't interest in why the officer had got punched, they just responded.
So now a bunch of green LPI officers, fresh out of the acadamy, had got past the civilians and came face to face with several hundred ex-miners, who were use to bar fights and were almost all built like a bull elephant, they were also all itching for something to fight. Then the new LPI officers learn, also the hard way, why the older and wiser officers hadn't been pushing as hard...
When the older and wiser officers finally got as far as the new ones they found alot of officers on the floor groaning, moaning or flinching at the mere sight of a boot.
The only sign of the nadesicos crew was a hole smashed through the wall and into an ally that lead to the spaceport.
"We're gonna have to lay low for a while I think." Marauder said to Pete Ling.
"Well delta is pretty far away, and there's few liberty patrols there."
"Yup, loads of nomads and corsairs though." Marauder sighed, "So much for the shore leave."
"Well we've still got to get thru alaska and omicron minor, theres liberty battleship, cruiser, VHF and HF patrols through both of those systems." Pete shrugged, "Not to mention the nomads."
"Yeah, oh well, we're gonna need the money." Marauder sat down on his bunk. "Especially as all the rest of the TG seem to have disappeared. You'd better change our ident too."
"I'll have the TG dropped from it." Pete turned and left marauders cabin.
'Right time to check some message dumps.' marauder browse through the traders dump then stopped as he caught sight of a post, 'He sounds like he enjoys a few drinks too.'
He started typing and then shut the terminal down and headed off towards the bridge, via the bar.
"Ok, have you changed the ident yet?" Marauder asked as he finally got to the bridge.
"We're just about too." Pete replied glancing up.
"Just switch the TG to IND. We've joined a loose group of traders with a few escorts." he grinned, "They like hanging out at the same places we do."
"What junk have we got in the hold?" Pete asked a crewman.
"Several major brains, load of minor ones and tons of corsair pilots, nomad brains, alien organisms and cobalt."
"Set a course for the best places to sell it all and lets get rid of it before some nosy cop or navy flyboy starts asking questions." Marauder sat down in the command chair.
"Course set, first drop off point california minor." Pete said after checking to nav map and base info list.
