TO: ALL JUNKER STATION CHIEFS AND COMMANDERS
MESSAGE: FLUX AETERNA!
In the debris fields of Sigma 13 a small station is built up by a band of roving Junkers using salvaged sections of ships destroyed in the Eighty year war between Rheinland and GMG. More Junkers arrive and
begin storing food and water and fuel there. In time, Yanagi is born with hundreds of Junkers living and working there and calling it "home". These hustling squatters work the areas of high radiation and threat--from the Wild, Corsairs, volatile gas and freight pirates. They and the Rheinland based company ALG have a tacit understanding that Junkers will be tolerated there so long as the they efficiently remove debris from these dangerous areas and keep trouble away from ALG's primary operations. In return, what happens at Yanagi is ignored by ALG so long as nothing threatening their operations emerges there.
Amongst the inhabitants of Yanagi are the quiet ones...the Junker Guards of the Junker Guards Party. Blending in, these Puerto Rican trained zealots quietly gather intelligence on ship traffic and cargo. They analyze and catalog area threats and map the locations and types of debris in the system's debris fields. When something of intelligence value is salvaged by a Junker, it is dropped off with the Guards Party members at Yanagi with no comment. Regular Junkers don't ask what is done with this information--they are just there for the salvage--and valuable information is always rewarded handsomely by Party members.
Intermingled with the Junker swarms of CSVs an occasional "Harvester" unit is seen--methodically scanning and paroling the worst areas of danger in Sigma 13. Always sweeping and passing in the most lethal of areas and occasionally returning with some salvaged piece of gear that disappears into the open maw of the Party transports. Data from Puerto Rico is constantly exchanged with Aercibo, efficiently speeding the discovery and collection of needed pieces.
Other covert Junker operatives at Helgoland (alias Larry Mull and Sean Cooper) keep tabs on the comings and goings of ALG personnel and vessels. Images are taken of wreckage brought in by the ALG crews with an occasional bribe given for additional information. Data is sorted and encoded and then forwarded to the database at Yanagi and from there it is relayed on to Arecibo Base in Puerto Rico. From their, Party analysts dispatch special recovery crews. Lifters, repair ships, CSVs and Transports are all based at Yanagi and immediately available when needed.
Over the years, tens of thousands of components have been recovered. Shipped through the Frankfurt and New Berlin jump holes in Junker Guards Party freighters, these pieces are quietly escorted to Kruzberg
in New Berlin and then as carefully shipped on to Bornholm where Junker, Harvester and Hessian construction crews and engineers painstakingly replicate, repair, refurbish and assemble them into modular elements with the same loving care and craftsmanship old earth automobile collectors gave to their rebuilt "classics"* [*see Library of Congress archives]. Orbiting Harvesters, fed by Junker scrappers, assemble and adapt additional components for fitting within Bornholm. Once assembled, the completed parts are packed and shipped to Vieques Shipyard for final refitting and joining. Decoy fleets with altered identification codes flit throughout Sirius as the parts are moved to distract and divert attention from the nature and scale of the work.
It has taken years of careful and quiet blood sweat and tears but today a dark behemoth slips from the ways of Vieques. The bright vision of Captain Vladimir Tinkerbell, Speaker of the Junker Guards
Party...the ship known as the Flux Aeterna. Hundreds of millions of donated credits, the old Slaver's Union fleet prison liner and four pirate Hessian cruisers along with Harvester fabricated parts, recovered Rheinland cruiser and battleship armor, hull and equipment pieces have all been poured into its construction. Junker and Red Hessian consultants have worked on fitting internal systems and assembling components into complete hull sections joined together by the shipyard. Thousands of hull panels, optronics and alloys have been ferried to Vieques for the final assembly. Lifter, transport and repair crews have worked overtime moving and hiding the construction away from prying eyes and helping to rush the work. Gunboats, cruisers, fighters and fighter-bombers have stood guard as the legacy was given form. For all practical purposes it is now done.
Like the Liberty Bell or the Capitol of old earth's "Liberty", the Flux Aeterna--"Change Eternal"--gives life to the Junker Guards Party dream that Junkers will have a place of their own. A place of security and prosperity where their families can be raised and educated and protected. Puerto Rico is a safe haven all Junkers can fall back to if dark times come and know that they are more than the"scrap whores" the pathetic Xenos and inbred Hogosha see them as. Junkers have a symbol of their strength and ability and for generations can look on it with pride, knowing they built it and it is theirs.
With the same secrecy with which it was built, it will orbit out of sight...unseen until needed and hidden from prying non-Junker eyes--but Junkers will know it is there and that it is theirs. This is the symbol of Junker solidarity and the future Junker Congress. As of today the vision is real and it will remain no matter how else Sirius changes. Libre and Flux...Balance and Change...eternal.
