It is slow paced and based on your ship, equipment and knowledge how to use such properly. Each time you die, you loose your ship and everything that was aboard. If your lifepod will be destroyed, you will be restored to last "save" you did in form of a clone (which costs). Also giant chunk of universe is lawless and subject to conquer for 1000+ player groups.
EVE is actually a wonderfull game once you get the hang of it, but it is much more serious and complicated than Freelancer so I guess it isn't for everyone....
EVE is time costly. You need hell many months to fly something really great with really great efficency. And I mean not just money but skills. Also EVE is not as nice game to play alone. You need at least 3 friends who you can trust. Also ship lost on death is difficult to accept sometimes. And its not a simulator btw, so you cant compare it to FL. Like comparing NeedForSpeed with GTA.
But it not sucks at all. The fact that some people that didnt tried something and judge it is hilarious. I could go and tell that AC and BF sucks, when I just never played them at all.
Like said above, EVE takes a long time to not only get a ship that can do something, but it can be very hard to learn how to play.
It's a pretty slow game, and losing your ship and not getting it back...well...lets just say you learn to run fast
PS. STAR CITIZEN PLEASE COME OUT FASTER!!!
PPS. It is a fun game despite what I just said.
IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT I SAID, IT MATTERS WHAT I MEANT!!!!
