Do you want to relax from a day of hard work? Do you want to meet other citizens? Do you like drinking a cold beer to finish the day while watching a beautiful shining crimson sunset?
Then the "Sommersee" Biergarten is the right place for you!
Among the most popular beer gardens within the underground city of New Berlin is the “Sommersee” Biergarten. The vast areal features a cold underground lake that is fed with water coming from melted snow and ice of the surface. Up-to-date software and hardware enable a 3D projection of a perfect blue sky filled with lone clouds which cast shadows upon the garden.
Artificial heating and artificial plants likewise add their own factor to let every visitor immerge into the pleasure of a hot summer day at the lake.
The Biergarten itself possesses several rows of benches that support hundreds of visitors. The “outdoor” bar has the capacity to support these numbers and draws fresh beer for everyone.
The tastes of most beer lovers can be satisfied around here, as the range includes many types of beer, including black and wheat beer. Each type of beer also supports an alcoholic and nonalcoholic version, aswell as a cheaper Synth Beer version and a more expensive ‘normal’ one.
To fill empty stomachs, the huge kitchen also offers several warm and cold meals which are 'traditional' and common dishes within Rheinland.
The 'Sommersee' Biergarten offers a place to enjoy your day, talk with other citizens or simply to relax from a hard day of work.
Although the security measures are quite high, the security can not always prevent shady persons slipping into the crowd and entering the garden. The intentions of those are not always favourable for the lawful forces.
Hauptmann Schmidt, in plain clothes as he has finished his work for now and managed to return home, enters through the northern entry, right at the main area with several benches. He walked right to the long counter and sits on a normal bar chair.
"Wheat beer, please." Plain and simple.
He turned around and takes a look around, looking whether anyone he recognizes currently is present. So far, nothing is seen. The usual visitors. Fathers and mothers tired of their significant others likewise, teenagers that barely are eighteen, if they are at all, alcohol addicts, drunks. Mostly persons that just want to finish their day with a cold beer down their throat.
Not noticing anything of importance yet, he turns back to the counter and starts his beer.
Viktor enters the garden. He turns to the bar, then gazes out to the rest of the 'gardeneers'. He sees Herr Schmidt at the bar, he looked out of place when he wasn't in his office. He cautiously approached the man and ordered his drink.
"Rhienbeer, make it a light one, I have to be taking off soon.'
His eyes bat to the man next to him, but keeps his head low.
Lavinia wandered into the garden. She was wearing black trousers, and a simple green top. She walked to the bar, and sat down on a bar stool.
"A beer please. I don't really know anything about beer types, so just surprise me" She smiled at the bartender.
He was hoping to see some familiar faces, but as she expected, there are only unknown faces. She looks around, and sees the two men, not too far from her.
After he drained a little more liquid from his mug, Kapitän Schmidt took a look around again. Being vigilant as ever, he could not help but notice what the man beneath him has said. From the corner of his eye, he cautiously inspected the one who the bartender was drawing beer for. Schmidt had a good day, and possesses a lot of vigor, which in return enabled him to speak quite freely to whoever appears to be interesting enough
Following right after is the turning of Michaels head towards the man, and speaking up.
"Happen to be a pilot, sir? I couldn't help but notice your comment following your order. Are you a soldier? You could look like one."
Viktor turns, alarmed that someone would actually contact him. The speaker is decorated in medals and fancy war memorabilia. A war veteran, perhaps. Viktor replies and tries to keep a steady voice.
"Ja, well..." He thinks about it for a moment before continuing "I'm an Inspektor and I rarely see the frontlines, unless I'm on, well, 'covert operations'."
Schmidt nods."An Inspektor, then. Glad to see I am not the only officer around here. So, what drives you to this.." He points towards the 3d projection of the sun in the sky, casting shadows upon the beer garden, providing an artificial warmth that makes most people feel comfortable. A slight breeze strokes the trees gently.
The loud chatter of the people gets him back to the reality again.
"This man-made paradise? It's quite astonishing what technology is used for this. So simple, yet so effective."
He turns his head and takes another sip of his beer. He must hurry up drinking it, or it will be warm .. and unenjoyable.
Geoffrey walked through the entrance of the garden, wearing a Lytham Rugby Club Polo-shirt and some civilized camouflage trousers wearing a side bag carrying plenty of papers.. He approached the bar counter leaning his back against it. He suddenly noticed the bartender was about to take his order. He turned around facing him in an appropriate manner.
"Ah... a large Earl Grey Tea, two sugars and milk, please..." He quickly responded as the bartender was taking his order on the computer.
The steam from the coffee machine rose, as the hot boiling milk was forced out of the tank. The herbs of the tea could be smelt slightly away from the bar's counter. He prepared his wallet and proceeded to add $1,000 USC to the tip jar.
The tea was placed onto the counter and he quickly took it to an empty table, not even noticing Schmidt, taking a few sips from his tea before placing a few documents on his lap, reading every word carefully. "At least they didn't screw up on the 'Mwer-Fur' This time..."He mumbled while he looked at the paper documents.
Lavinia stared at the 3D projewalkedn for a few moments. The display amused her, meanwhile the bartender got her beer.
"Many thanks" he noted, and drank from the mug.
She stood up from the bar, and walked to the man, who was still busy reading some papers.
Drinking tea in a Biergarten? Why missing the chance to taste a draught of happiness? she smiled at the man. Mind if I...? she pointed at a chair next to the table
Viktor's eyes wandered around the beirgarden, wondering how technology had reached it current stage.
"Currently I'm just enjoying this... artificial, sunlight before I head off into..." he stutters, then looks around and back at the officer, "Into Liberty on a U-Boating operation." He sits back in his seat, his eyes slightly widened at the officer as he awaited his reply.
