I was actually using the slipstream model when I designed this, as well as looking at the terran wraith from starcraft... The ship I got out of it looks a tad on the alien side, so it might be ok for a homeworld ship replacement. I modelled it with 6 hardpoints (two on each of the three wings), it also has two hardpoints modelled on the upper body for Countermeasure and Mine droppers.

Here's a couple images using 3dsm textures - note that they are not freelancer textures and are only meant to give an idea of what it could look like:

And here are size comparisons to the nephthys order VHF. I may need to increase this one's size slightly... When I got the model done, I imported the Nephthys and it was about 200x smaller than the model I had made, so I had to scale mine down. I tried to match cockpit sizes, but may have gone a hair too small.
looks like an insect - bit small. don t really know if it fits. but it cannot be worse than some of the HW ships - might easily replace a kadesh light fighter. - but not like it looks more FLish than the homeworld ships for that matter. - other than that, its a nice concept indeed.
' Wrote:Good model, but, fatten wings near hull and redesign cockpit. Then it might work.
i could fatten the wings fairly easily but... what would you have done with the cockpit? I can remove the 'roll cage' bars around it, if that's what you mean.
I modelled the cockpit 'hollowed out' with the 'glass' part capable of being transparent, so it'd look a little better in-game. Trying to change the overall shape of the cockpit would be very, very tedious at this point without starting over from scratch.
Shorten ribs to last three. And then shorten cockpit so it ends where ribs start. Maybe round it more so it sticks out a bit. Maybe even break out of nose line.
Ok... I added a few little 'eye' looking things to the front of the ship, took out most of the 'ribs' around the cockpit (now there's only two, one in the middle and one at the back, more closely fitted to the glass), and made the wings a little wider where they attach to the ship itself.
this may actually serve better as the kadesh heavy fighter, and I could design a second ship based off of this for the light fighter.
Currently there's only two kadesh ships - a LF and HF, the LF has 4 guns while the HF has 6. This ship is designed for 6 gun hardpoints... for a LF I could use the same basic cockpit, and instead of the two 'bent' wings on the sides just copy the lower vertical wing to the top of the ship. It'd make it a more vertically oriented ship like the bounty hunter fighters.
well. this thing will certainly be a pain to fight since its really short. So I would suggest to stretch the body a little bit. And although I would like to see it as a Arwing replacement, I like the bottom wing and the concept of each wing-tip carrying two guns very much
Edit: Was just reading that the slipstream is a LF with 6 guns. So if you give the ship a rather sabre-ish touch, it could be an option.
Edit2: Though ... the info-card does not state that its a hackers ship ... ah well.
Here's a second version, this one drops the two bent wings and uses an extra vertical wing (would only have 4 gun hardpoints, so it might make a better kadesh LF, with the other being a HF).
A few other changes were made to make it appear 'lighter' - the four 'eyes' on the front were reduced to three, the double engines were reduced to a single engine, two smaller stabilizer wings were added to the sides in place of the bent large wings, and the CM/mine hardpoints on the back were moved a bit. The body itself was made slightly thinner and more sleek, though it's probably not too noticeable in these shots.
