I'm Johnathan Jones, Director of Operations of Aquila Defense Systems.

And I have a proposal.

We recently had to give up our factories on Leeds for... well, obvious reasons really. While we've settled in decently with Natio Octavarium, they don't really have the manpower at the moment to man our factories.

Liberty does. Liberty also has a problem with released criminals immediately getting themselves arrested again.

I think we can help each other out. We would like to purchase space on Houston to set up a factory - or, if there's an unused factory there, we can repurpose it for our needs. This factory will mostly be used by our Sanford & Wahlberg branch, producing personal arms and armor. However, we would also like to use it to hasten our snub craft production.

We are also willing to employ recently released criminals. We will, of course, kep them away from any functional weapons, but I see no harm in having them work on armor or individual components.

For reference, our company only does business with legal entities in Liberty and Bretonia, such as freelancers (with a background check), members of the Independent Miners' Guild, and corporate escorts. We're in the process of renewing our licensing in Bretonia now.

Dear Mr Jones
Thank you for contacting us.
We have carefully viewed your proposal, and after a brief discussion and background check, would like to inform you that we are interested in what you propose.
As you are probably aware, from the public data, LPI has a limited number of daughter companies, operating on Houston in different sectors than our main. During the recent war years, we had to shut down a few of our operations, thus having unused PPE (Property, Plant and Equipment). We can currently offer you two factories on the surface, one near a rather large settlement, and close to our HQ on the planet, the other in the less populated area. Most of the machinery there should still be in working condition.
Private estimators have valued the first factory, at 100,000,000 Sirius Credits.
The second one is valued at 90,000,000 Sirius Credits. The quoted prices include both the buildings and the land - so you don't have to worry about rent.
All payments can be forwarded to LPI-Leavenworth
Both factories have had a history of producing personal arms, consumer goods, and machinery. All other accounting data (depreciation, inventory leftovers, and all remaining assets) is available in the factories' databases, located on site.
A few more words on the local economy - in most sectors, besides some of our operations, you won't find much competition. The sole major company on the planet, is of course DSE, holding a large proportion of the market for two industries - Consumer Goods and Construction Machinery. (Due to them controlling most of the source of input needed for these commodities).
As you probably already know, labour is cheap on the planet. We see no issues in employing former convicts at minimum wage, so we will recommend to quite a few of them to seek you for employment.
We hope you find our answer satisfactory. Looking forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
The Management Board

Done. I routed it through the Calgary account. We'll go for the first one, the location strikes me as being a better choice for the employees.

The timing's perfect, actually, since our paperwork for Bretonian licensing just went through. The war stalled things a bit, I hear.

A pleasure doing business with you.

The pleasure is ours. All the documents for the factory are on site, our representatives will await your arrival to hand over the keys.
The relevant employees of the prison facilities have already been kindly asked to redirect some of the "labour force" towards your factories, in the near future, should that labour force happen to serve its sentence and go free.
Once again, pleasure doing business with you.
With kind regards,
The Management Board

Just a quick status report. We've checked out the factory in more detail, it's in pretty good shape. But we had to ship in some extra supplies - normal routine, really, every job needs different equipment.

So the Calgary brought some over.

The factory should be fully operational within the week, and we've already begun screening potential hires with the planetside LPI offices.

We'll let you know when the first batch of Model 9 electrolasers is done, I think you'll be interested.
