COMM ID:Ensign Alan Polstari TARGET ID:Primary Fleet Command HQ SUBJECT:Hectic Day ENCRYPTION:High PRIORITY:Medium
Greetings sirs,
At the request of Commander Sanders I am making the following report about a series of events that transpired while on patrol today.
I started my patrol off at West Point, and found Recruit Harper already on duty. I took note that Admiral Hale was also present. As I made to meet up with Recruit Harper my comm system began to come alive with reports from a "Rheinland Spy Drone" claiming it was hacking the Battleship Missouri. Arriving at the Missouri I found no sign of the vehicle or its companion. I can only assume that it was a PsyOp, but Harper and I began a sweep to find it. The LABC "The Lone One" was also sweeping for them.
Unfortunately as we were performing our sweep near Zone 21, a pair of Wilde appeared from that direction. Admiral Hale gave explicit orders that we were to make them our top priority, so we abandoned our chase of the drones and persued the Wilde. We ghosted them back and forth through Southern New York near the Texas exits, through which they managed to make it into Texas. Fortunately we were able lane through Texas and cut them off from the exits into Hudson/Bering, with the LABC joining us. As we played more cat and mouse with them near the southern exits, a Vagrant Raider showed up and began to verbally harass us. Given that our orders were to focus on the Wilde we ignored the Vagrant. We were fortunate in that an LPI Officer Mark Stone and the Gunboat LNS "Paxutent" showed up and helped us wall off the system. We weren't able to plug every hole however, and the Wilde fell back through the New York Jump Hole and then through Pennsylvani to California. Harper, the "Paxutent", "The Lone One", and myself persued to California. While we were not able to catch up with them, Intel confirmed that they exited Liberty space through Cortez.
It was at this time that the "Paxutent" reported contact with a Nomad creature near L.A. Harper and I made off towards the last reported sighting along with the LABC, who's firepower I knew we would need to handle the creature. While we managed to get on it's tail (myself having taken a wrong turn on a lane in an attempt to cut ahead), Harper reported that the creature exited through to Cortez as well. When we had mentioned the Wilde who had recently passed through, the creature, an "~Aurora~", mentioned its dislike of the beings. Based on that and later Intel reports I doubt that the Wilde and Nomad incidents were related by anything more than mere chance timing.
The rest of our day's patrol will be summarized by Commander Sanders himself.
